George McDonald is absolutely terrible

You aren't going to tranform into a high powered machine immediately with that starting point.

Agreed. And that is a very important point.

We've come light years in terms of talent / depth / size, but we still have a little ways to go with the offensive skill talent and speed. We'll get there, but we're not quite there yet. That's not a knock on how far we've come--it's reality.

The 2012 schedule was decidedly more difficult than last year. Not really debatable. Much stronger 1-13. After FSU and Clemson, Louisville, Cinci, Missouri, WVU, USC, NWestern, Rutgers all better than the next best team on the schedule last year.

I would argue that it is about equal to last year, we will play 5 teams that are/were ranked in the top 25. FSU, Clemson, Louisville, ND and Duke. Not to mention Pitt has been receiving votes.

You are forgetting the 3 years before that 2009-2011 that you alluded to that were WAY easier than last years schedule.

i wasn't implying that. i'm just pointing out that scoring 20 points is not unheard of compared to a team that was ok. i didn't include 2009 in that so they were better than .500

Uh...little B? Try the BIG B playa... Porsches are for posers (proven fact)

I just like the look of Porsches. Could care less about what others think of me if I were to get one. What's the big B?

Isn't dick harmon dead?

Sorry, mix him and Bill up all the time. Don't see him very often and am terrible with names. Bill is trying to fix my slice. Dick gave me my first golf lesson and it's been all downhill since then.

Trust me, I've got no great love for any of the mods around here. And that goes back over a decade. But, I will not question their commitment to SU sports, their tickets, or their consistency in showing up. You running around beating your chest asking for people's tickets because you are 31 and just watched Boiler Room and Wolf of Wall Street back to back last night makes you look like a clown.

So when it comes to Jake and Millhouse, both guys who have seen more horrendous SU football games and know 8 times as much as you do about SU football and its history, you should probably have fun with your little childish post, make your silly point, and move on.

This is less about sticking up for them and more about the idiocy of your campaign.

44cuse
I was drunk and took a nice little 4 day banning for it. That said, your post is more derogatory than anything I spewed. To surmise, "because I'm 31, I'm just a young whippersnapper that hasn't any real knowledge of anything." That fair?! I may not know much about the Orange prior to 1986, but SU's history has zero bearing on judging the current SU staff, nor on the way the game is played today. I have neither met Jake, nor Millhouse, however, so I cannot comment on their football acumen, nor can I compare it to my own. That said, just because I'm young and maybe look at the game differently, doesn't exactly equate to my acumen being of any less prominence.

I was aggressive and took things to the extreme for a reason. That reason was that everybody started attacking our OC and the attacks were largely unfounded, especially after a game where the offense was very successful. Games like the Maryland game happen to the best of them. A few lucky bounces, or in this case unlucky miscues, and Syracuse wins that game handily. It's happened before and will happen again unfortunately.

its mostly your grip
Usually it's a grip issue, however, I've been told by all the instructors that my upper body and club handling look great. The issue for me is I have a hard time with my lower body and more specifically my left leg/knee (I'm a righty). Somehow over time I stopped paying attention to this entirely. First evolution had me collapsing my knee (shifting it towards my right knee) in my back swing. That further evolved when I bought new clubs earlier this year (old clubs off the rack and new clubs at a fitting studio and adjusted to proper length). I began actually lifting my heel when my knee collapsed toward the right. My future father-in-law (FFIL) pointed it out to me 3 weeks ago and WOW, what a difference. Long and straight most times now. Still getting used to it though, so I still have my errant shots when I don't remember to keep the knee in position.

There's only one person able to judge acumen (at least he believes so) and he doesn't participate here anymore.

Thanks. Started picking up the game right after college at 22. Not the most ideal time and never dedicated the time to really learning the game. It was more of a way to indulge in swing "oil". That said, this year I dedicated alot more time to the game. It's frustrating as all hell, but the last month has been much more fun. Hoping to keep playing through the winter and hit next spring with a bang.

McDonald's play calling on 3rd down in this ND are just mind boggling. WTH is the guy thinking..smh

his playcalling is mind boggling every week. The guy is in over his head. He can't call a game.

If we had scored 45 points to go with the 600 none of these McDonald bashing threads would exist. Flush it and move on. Next game provides a chance for the whole team to get better.
Still waiting...

Slow your backswing down.

I literally want to fight McDonald...

Hasn't been the issue. Literally was an issue with lifting my left foot. Has been much better ever since. Still getting used to keeping it planted, but everything has been going straighter now. Really appreciate everyone's help here though. It's just tough when you all can't see me hit. Several guys pointed to things that normally are presbribed to fix the issue. My upper half is always damn near perfect. It's my lower half that gets me in trouble.

The trick given to me was that to keep the left foot planted, position yourself to the ball. Then open your lead toe. That worked wonders and highlighted how badly I was moving my lead foot. Now I'm trying to get to the point where I dont' have to open the lead toe because I'm losing 10-15 yards on my shot. I'm practicing this at the range and improving greatly.
