I think we also underestimate the impact that Gerry leaving had on our program. Red’s worst 3 seasons were after Gerry left.

I agree. JAB is 81 years old people, he doesn't even know how to use a computer. Last I saw Julie was setting him up for his zoom calls. So ‘fire’ him from his honorary made up position with no job requirements then.
What are we even talking about here?
That I agree with and if that happens and Gerry is doing well there is no doubt he would come back to coach.I bet if Hodgson is really good , he leaves in 3-4 years and Gerry would be a top candidate.
If he's doing something that hurts the program, then you need to cut him loose. Especially if he's not even doing anything in his honorary made up position.

They are paying him a salary for 2 positions. He teaches in the Falk School and he is an advisor to the Athletic Dept.
Lol. People here were as adamant that we should hire Frost. The hodgeson fervor is just like the Frost fervor. In a month no one will care cuz he won’t be hired. People are getting lured in by a guy named Axe.I don't follow, Frost was a Nebraska alum who went home and flamed out to everyone's surprise. Change the name Hodgson with McNamara and then now you've got it.
According to?He has been for a very long time.
Does he even know Gerry? Not sure why you think Boeheim should have no opinion on Gerry getting bigger offers.
Bryan Hodgson.According to?
Pretty easy for a team like Duke, pretty hard for a team like BC.Would you say that going 9-9 in the acc is the same difficulty as going 9-9 in the maac?
Ask Greg PaulusPretty easy for a team like Duke, pretty hard for a team like BC.
If he's shouting to the world that Cuse can't compete because our nil is bad, that's hurting the program. If he isn't "working" for the program, the response is just, "Well, Jim's been gone a long time. That's not the case anymore." Not only does having him as an "employee" lend him credence, it just makes us look like an unorganized program that can't keep our house in order. I'd be laughing my ass off if this was happening to Huggins and WV.When he does something that hurts the program, yeah, sure.
I’m making two points. One, I don’t think he or anybody cares if he gets ‘fired’ as double secret special advisory consultant technician. The job doesn’t mean anything and firing him doesn’t mean anything. Two, none of his comments about Gerry or our NIL hurt the program.

Not sure if this was posted earlier. No idea where this guy is getting his info.
Are you threatening to have the shark eat my dog Buddy if I don’t fall into line!. Get ready for the sharknado Buddy!![]()
I'll simplify.
Go do a quick google search the programs that are looking to hire Schertz, Hodgson, Gmac and then Hopkins.
I've put them in order. Serious programs are looking at Schertz and Hodgson, Gmac is getting calls from BC and GT, and Hopkins well i'm not sure who is calling him except he's making promises to get bankrolled by some millionaires.
When you get outside of CNY and look nationally you start seeing the difference in prospects the coaches have.
We're all huge Gmac fans. I can still say that I think down the road he would be a great coach here not but not this year. Bringing us out of a tailspin in the ACC is goign to take new blood.

He’s actually good on TV.I agree. JAB is 81 years old people, he doesn't even know how to use a computer. Last I saw Julie was setting him up for his zoom calls.
He's at the age where they just talk nonsense and we nod and smile and move on. Radio guys like it cuz they get a few extra clicks today but then everyone will forget. Is anyone taking Dick Vitale seriously today, he's 86? It's the same thing.
Who would energize more NIL donations?Being critical of our NIL does not hurt the program. Here’s why:
Players: They get the offers they get. They don’t care if Syracuse as a whole has a lot of NIL or not.
Donors: It incentivizes more of them to donate and incentivizes current donors to donate more.
Fans and media: Already knew the objective truth that Syracuse was behind in NIL. It was never a secret, so they’re unfazed - or should be - by the comment.
I don't think it impacts players at all. It probably impacts donors to a negligible amount. I think it changes the narrative around the program and where we currently rank, and that potentially changes who's interested in a HC job. Of course anyone really interested will interview and find out, but I'd imagine it would keep people from being interested. And as I kinda said on my last post, I certainly think it makes the school look incompetent, they can't even deal with the ghost of Boeheim.Being critical of our NIL does not hurt the program. I don't think this is the biggest deal by any stretch. If my tone comes off like I think the world is falling down, that's just residual from being on line entirely too much today and arguing about who the next coach should be, which IS super important, obviously. Who the next coach is, that is, not my arguing about itI don’t think a former coach saying an objective truth makes the program look incompetent. What coaching candidate would be unaware of our NIL situation?
