Brunt is the AHC at PSU so I assume he would take the same position here. Would be a great hire. I assume Daly would be the offensive coordinator.

Just a little tidbit about Brunt. He recruited Mingo’s brother to Penn State. Dylan Mingo almost went to Penn State too. He also played with Kiyan in high school school. Several connections. It might mean nothing, but it can’t help. Just watched an interview with Brunt. He’s very impressive. He also has ties to VCU. Same as Daly.

That would be two really strong additions. If Lee comes over as well wow. You may have not gotten the same bench depth in assistant talent with a different hire. This staff will now clearly be different than anything over the years under JB at the helm and be built for the current era yet consistent with guys that carry the mentality of the head coach too.

With the holiday weekend approaching (and Passover already begun), I would have to think today is the day we will start hearing at least a couple definite staff additions so that we can hit the portal running next week.

Now these are the types of hires I was hoping for. Bringing in Brunt, Daly, & Lee definitely makes me feel a bit better about the hire. And then you can bring in AO and Blackwell and that's a much stronger full staff than we had under Red, and than what Gerry had last season.

They are both PGs I thought and neither really a shooter. Kayden was 24 pct from 3 as a freshman.

Great resume. Defensive coordinator at PSU with great efficiency stats while at VCU and good player development at PSU. Was offensive coordinator while at Miami and a stud recruiter at all locations. Would be a great hire!

That’s where I think you look at GM to bridge the gap as Alex did. A triumvirate of Lee, Daly and Brunt alongside AO and RB with Pete retained plus a guy with the NBA background connections at GM and there you go. While maybe not having been in the scout business long I wouldn’t mind Hak in that role if he’s a good fit. He is someone who really hasn’t been around the program much , at least not publicly, since he was drafted and thus he’s both family and very much an outside hire. Plus more championship pedigree too. Only question is does he have the HS/Prep connections you want. That’s important as well.

Gmac said directly that the staff was not in "limbo" while waiting for the hiring process to be complete. They have been working on the roster and portal all week. I'm assuming this includes the GM, who is likely also already on board.

These things are usually set in stone a good time before they are released to the public. A small issue is most coaching contracts don’t expire until after the FF so I assume that’s part of the holdup.

I would just say that if all but 1 are done it’s probably that last spot to close on before announcing it or leaking the whole staff to go. Even if HR isn’t done with the last hire once it’s accepted I figure we get the news coming out unofficially for everyone before a quick turn formal announcement once HR is done with the last piece.
