Giddyup Yankee B*tches

Congratulations, we can't support a billion dollar payroll. The Yankees are clearly the better (richer) organization. That doesn't mean it won't feel good sending an aging Jeter home in tears this year. Plus, watching Gayrod (sorry, i mean Metrosexualrod) suck in the postseason is worth it alone.

And for what it's worth, we went wire to wire the year after and made it to the ALCS that year before losing to Cleveland.

There's always 1997 . . . . and are the O's still paying Albert Belle's salary?

I actually was at the Cuse at that time. Took a road trip to B'more with some friends in my old 1977 Pontiac Catalina to see an ALCS game. Got to see Ripken hit his last career postseason HR.

There's always something weirdly comforting and nostalgic that the last time they were in the playoffs, I was a young pup in my prime.

Last night sucked, but the series ain't over yet. Just fun to care about baseball in October again.

Home field advantage really frustrates me this year. Win the ALE, best record in the AL, sent to B'More for the first two games. What?

Home field advantage definitely in the Yankees favor now. If it goes the distance, 3 of 4 are in New York.

of course, but putting the team with the advantage away for the first two games of a best of 5 series is nonsense.

Just ask Oakland.

While still nonsense, going to Baltimore was better for the Yanks than if Texas had won.

Let's get back to 2-2-1.

"We will not go quietly into the night! We will not vanish without a fight! We're going to live on! We're going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day! Or at least a series tied at 1-1!"

Thank you Bill Pullman.

Who are you starting in Game #3? Randy Quaid?

That's a nice pull, I have to admit.

Was wondering the other day, Paxton or Pullman? Both adequately horrible. At first glance, I'd give the edge to Pullman since he played the President. But in the end, I have to give it to Paxton, only for his role as Chet in Weird Science.

Yankees better win this in 4. Even with their automatic out they placed in the 3 hole.

ARod keeping the legend alive...striking out to make the last out in a post season game.
