Only team that didn't have an idea on how to shut us down was Colgate. If the coaches from WMU, Army and Purdue did not come up with a game plan from film they should all be fired.

I would also argue we are more talented then Wake this year and even if not ahead of G Tech.

This is so true. I have zero idea what to expect but I know we can beat every team left, highly doubt we run the table. We could also lose every game, which I highly doubt we lose every remaining game. But DB’s record in November isn’t good against peer schools and the air seems to have left the dome.
 
Here is what I want to believe…..Shrader was held back from running crazy to protect him from these bigger teams the last 3 weeks. And our offense depends on him running like he did against Purdue. You saw the hit he took first drive against Clemson. If he took a few more of those…..we lose him for the year and then there are no more wins. Is that the truth? Who knows. But it’s a theory.

Will they win at VT? I highly doubt it, then the wheels come right off.

Not good in November and not good off of a bye week

I think we are vastly underplaying the remaining schedule.

Pitt just beat Louisville (without Jordan) but still

Boston College at least gave FSU a game….

Going to be tough to get to 6 wins IMO
 
Injuries. Can’t predict them. Either on Cuse or opponents. Whoever is healthier could be the determining factor in games like Wake and BC. That’s typically how it goes.

But they still ran him in the Clemson game even after that hit. He’s continued to have designed runs called for him and he’s been allowed to take the ball himself in RPO even when it’s not the best option. I think teams are just game planning to stop him running. He doesn’t have the lanes he has against teams like Colgate that can’t defend the whole field.

This sure crossed my mind. We aren’t even the same team on offensive philosophically last 3 games. Again like we are playing to not lose which I’m sick of personally. I understand how hard it is to win, but we aren’t watching the same playbook as we were first 4 weeks. Let’s see how it goes I agree with the Wild West comment.

This is the way I think. Any record in these last 5 games is in play. I think the posters that think we are some super talented team and have been coasting the last three games and the team is magically going to flip a switch and start playing well and winning again havent been paying attention to Dino’s career coaching here at Syracuse. Is it possible? Sure but just as likely we continue this bad play for the rest of the year.

Historically you re right. Nov/Dec has $ucked and after bye weeks the team has not done well either.

However….

Pitt did beat UL. But with no Jordan. It was a big impact, as was the game being in Pitt after UL laid it all out against ND. I don’t bet but the next to definite winner, other than FSU covering, was Pitt beating them.

bC played FSU on their “red bandana” day, in stuffty rain, after FSU luckily beat Clemson.

I will keep the faith. Lot’s of games to play.

Maybe I am a fool or maybe a genius. It’s the curse of bleeding orange.

Oh well.

The announcers praised the guy that FSU had spying Shrader. That SHOULD have enabled the offensive coordinator to exploit that to a degree. OK, we have no reason to doubt that Shrader was having it exit from both ends, and believe you me, I know how bad that is. So, I will simply forget that the FSU game was ever played. But, yes, other teams will game plan to stop Shrader running and I will be very interested to see how Beck responds to that. The Clemson and North Carolina games don't give me a whole lot of confidence. But, maybe we get Peña and Ellis back, and maybe Jones rounds into form. As Belichek always says "we're on to next week."

In the Clemson game, we were still undefeated. Once that game got a little out of hand and we lost, there was no reason to risk him at UNC and FSU. Dino knows he needs to win 7-8 games to keep his job and having Shrader available is the only way to do that. I think you see them throw caution to the wind with him the last 5 games.

Or, maybe, similar to the usual suspects here, full of excuses after excuses when it comes to Syracuse football.
 
Can we review all the teams in the 6-9 win range at year end and show how they are not "Paper Tigers"

There are about 20 good teams 30-40 mid teams and 20 plus below that..

Our issue is we could win 7-8-9 with no good wins.

The rest of the ACC

Duke has the Clemson win but really were not the better team that day, but it worked out they would have been 8-4 with nothing

Lou got the ND win.. Without that 1 game they have nothing

GT has the Miami debacle to save them, they need to beat us to have a 6-7 win season anyway

Miami. If they lose to clem/FSU they will be a 8 win team with what the tex am game as their highlight?

Clemson might end up 8-4 with an Avg Miami team as their best win

Pitt loses the next 2 and they has so find a way to win out to get to 6 wins

Nc St probably has to beat Wake/VT to get to 6 wins

VT has been awful but if they beat us they might get to 7-8 wins and be happy.

BC has been awful. But they have a path to 8-9 wins as well
