They aren't quite as nice and cordial as they were before the game. That's what happens when you play the top teams tough, they get pissed off. One of them told orange in va to off over an innocent comment that our team is maybe better than they thought.

LSU fans believe that game was as close as it was because of:

A) penalties
B) coaching

Had nothing to do with the opponent that played them, it had everything to do with them. If (as an opposing fan) you say "hey we're pretty good" they say "BS, we would have CRUSHED you if not for..."

Sounds a lot like our Syracuse basketball board. It's always an SU issue, and never has anything to do with how the other team imposed their will.

They were kind because they thought we were a sacrificial lamb, and because we don't play them much. If we played them yearly and played them tough, they would hate us.

In their minds, regardless of the outcome yesterday, we suck, because we have sucked for a long time. I personally think this game says more about us, than it does about them. That's just me being a fan though I guess!

OP nailed it exactly. LSU fans are great before the game and terrible after.

Pretty sure LSU wasn't penalized any more so than usual. Will go back and compare.

They were however in some circumstances it was self-inflicted ... although you are going to hold more when you get beat ... right Steve? The fact is there were at least 3 occasions where a good play by an SU defender drew a call ... and of course the Ishmael PI call in the endzone was because he absolutely had the LSU defender out of position. Sometimes they are the result of the other team making a better play.

Some of them are still pretty good over there. And it's surprising - they almost all like Shafer's attitude from his post game press conference. Funny to compare their thread to the thoughts of some of our posters re: "I wanted to kick his a$$."

I believe I saw a stat during the game that up to yesterday's game, LSU had been penalized an avg. of 69 yards...so they were considerably over their average yesterday.

What did you expect from some members of this board? I just replied to the preseason presser about Lester and his offense and if you read it and then look at the results and the way people are posting today its night and day ... and those preseason posts had no basis on fact or history ... that should tell you something.

Agree completely. Kind of experienced a similar thing last year down at the Clemson game. Beforehand, very friendly folks, welcome to Clemson, glad you're here, yada, yada, yada. Things got a lot different the first half, especially after we went in with a 6-3 lead. Clemson, we have the chance of being a future rival, since we are in the ACC and if we continue to get better, will compete potentially with future recruits...

Don't take that site personal, it doesn't represent the whole LSU fan base.

Y'all played a great game and you were much better than I expected.

A lot of fans are very frustrated on how undisciplined our team can be. As in any game, penalties can change a game. That is something our coaches will have to fix, 14 penalties isn't acceptable.

Congrats to your team on a hard fought game and good luck on the rest of the season.

Wrong board to find mature quaity fans. On our board you will find a different tune including a poster saying we should watch your coach and how he is going to be a hot commodity. He had Cuse ready to play in all parts of the game.

Yes we had penalties, and yes we played sloppy. But that takes nothing away from the fact we played a team prepared and aggressive.

I cant stand the droppings. Appropriately named.

Against Auburn: 43 yards total.
Against Ms State: 95 yards total.
Against us: 120 total yards.

A number of those penalty yards yesterday were for holding or pass interference. They got frustrated.
Maybe our size and strength on both sides of the line of scrimmage surprised them. Not to pander, but other than experience, our DL is big, strong physical unit and is doing a great job.

I really like our LB's but wish we had more size across the board.

A bit more size would help; though it didn't seem to do Auburn any good.

We need to recruit a few physical CB/S other WR need to hear foot steps that is our weak link this year
Ya, it would be awesome to have a couple of safeties in the mold of Donovan Darius. Put the fear of God in opponent's WR's.

I coached football with a guy who played at LSU way back in the day. He would always tell me, "LSU's dream season would be go undefeated, beat Alabama in the national championship, and fire their head coach immediately after."

You have literally described most fan bases on the planet not sure why any of this is news to anyone.
Yep, that's the truth. That's why I made the comparison to our basketball team. It's how fans of most winning programs are. I think it's interesting fan psychology.

I know, I saw that too. I thought that was pretty cool.

Oh, didn't take it personally at all! Just always think fan psychology is interesting. Comparing a board before a game to after is always kind of a fun sociological experiment. Loved LSU fans, and look forward to a fun trip to Death Valley in 2017.
