Gonzaga to the Big East?

Gonzaga would have the smallest arena in the NBE by a lot. They really need to make it bigger. I met someone from Spokane when I was in Washington and she was like ' Gonzaga hoops you can't get tickets.'

Adding a high profile school like Gonzaga makes a ton of sense for the BE, if they want to up their profile. Getting an improved TV deal out of it is likely part of that goal.

Logistically, it would be difficult, mostly for Gonzaga. They'd likely have to fly east 4-5 times to play some Th/Sat or Sat/Mon games. Games in Omaha, Milwaukee, Chicago won't be that difficult since they already fly to SoCal for games - it's adding 15-45 minutes to those locales. But money talks, so this could be beneficial for all parties, assuming Gonzaga cares about their non-bball sports and can find a solution.

Wonder if the BE would ever go after Notre Dame? They can align their football with the B10 if they break from the ACC, and probably fit a lot better for all their other sports in the BE.

ND couldn't get out of the BE fast enough. That's why they approached the ACC in the 1st place.

But how long will Gonzaga actually be high profile? They could end up like Georgetown the past 10-15 years after Few departs. These decisions need to be made with long term implications in mind. The Big East needs to improve their current once-elite programs like Gtown. ND is locked into the ACC for at least a decade or more.
