Alot of coaches are very stubborn and it's their way and you will learn it or else. Not saying it's right but yeah sucks that we didn't adapt quicker.I wonder if this indicates some friction between Fran and Nixon. The whole world knew that we needed to adjust to he skill sets of Collins, Carney, etc.. Why does it take 5 games for a coach to acknowledge that?
I personally think there is without Fran directly saying it, also the Yasin Willis getting more snaps…. Also Fran was actually pointing out in the summer I believe prior to camp (I can’t remember the exact timeline) of how we have to continue to adjust and innovate what we do with the players we have. I would be stunned if Nixon returns. Before it was Nixon getting an opportunity to be one of the highest paid offensive coordinator jobs or a head coach job. He still may, but I think he is gone regardless even for a lateral move because him and Fran don’t gel well.I wonder if this indicates some friction between Fran and Nixon. Stubbornness and/or inflexibility don’t show up on a resume - you learn that through experience with someone. If that’s indeed what is going on here then I think Fran has handled it about as well as could be expected for a young coach.I personally think there is without Fran directly saying it, also the Yasin Willis getting more snaps…. 3-9 with all the blowouts creates a lot of turmoil. Some people want this but expect a complete turnover of staff at the end of the season whether it is Brown's choice or the individual coaches' choices to leave. Brown will have his work cut out to reassemble a staff. It's hard to believe this thing got blown up so fast especially after a 10-3 season. The program is at a crossroads again. It happened fast. Losing Angeli is the biggest reason but the team has not been competitive for 5 consecutive weeks and looking at getting blown out at Miami and ND. At least you'd think they'd be competitive in games and we haven't even been close.Man I like Fran a lot. But what an absolute clusterF*** this season turned into once Angeli got hurt. I get the vibe there’s a little turmoil behind the scenes with the football program and Fran’s trying to keep it upright right now
I hope your assessment is not true. I hope we are not at a crossroad.3-9 with all the blowouts creates a lot of turmoil. All well and good but he should’ve recognized the play calling was bad after 1 week, not 4 plus a bye![]()
