Class of 2014 Goodluck okonoboh

Could the staff be confident in the Cooney/Patterson rotation at the two? Patterson's defense is gonna get him minutes.
I think the staff probably likes the depth that they have at the 2, but I think it's more about them preferring Joseph more than Newton. The staff has shown Whitehead lots of love and he knows the deal. If he wants to play with Newton in college then it won't be at SU unless things go south with Joseph, which I don't think will happen. FWIW JB was the only head coach on Joseph's main school list to consistently track him down out in Indy.

Would rather have goodluck and kaleb. The work ethic and chip on the shoulder is there, that is Syracuse Basketball.

These are the kids we need for the years of inevitable scrutiny and hardships caused by the media that always seems to plague us.

These kids have talent, heart, brains, and upside.

Whitehead seems full of himself, and this whole all or nothing package thing is pretty dumb IMO. The coach is the only person who should decide on a package deal, not the recruits.

Exactly.

Whitehead will want the attention and cameras.

The cameras will want Kaleb.

After watching that video posted recently documenting Kaleb in his thread, I'm sold. I think this kid will be a key to the program after Ennis and CM inevitably leave likely by 2015.

E S P N note. Tough reading about the missed layup by Kaleb.

Good luck to Boeheim and Crean

ESPN 100 center Goodluck Okonoboh(Boston/Wilbraham & Monson), one of the nation’s best defensive players, had his bid to make the finals at adidas rejected when a layup from ESPN 100 point guard Kaleb Joseph (Nashua, N.H./Cushing Academy) rolled off the rim. The shot would have sent the game into overtime against an upstart squad from Quebec.

In the stands for that game were two head coaches who should factor prominently into Okonoboh’s decision: Indiana’s Tom Crean and Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim.

As Tee pointed out in another thread. If it's SU and Minnesota for Whitehead, then there shouldn't even be any debate lets get serious now. Along with SU, Minnesota didn't watch Whitehead at all during the first evaluation period as well. Somebody may have a bruise ego.

eh he is a what, 18? year old kid?

Could have a lot of voices in his ear telling him how to act and other things etc.

I experienced a lot of the same stuff in my summer travels for baseball playing before colleges. It's really astonishing how similar recruiting is etc for a lot of sports.

You have to remember that Minnesota has Williams Arena though, Francis! Who would want to play in the Carrier Dome when you can experience this?

probably comes down to playing time. Things might be crowded in the SU backcourt. Could be an easier route to starting and thus the NBA. Also, younger coach like Pitino might be an attraction.

I have to admit something, whenever I see his name the first thing I think is Bryan Mills. Now if you don't know who he is he is a character played by Liam Neeson in Taken, when he is looking for his daughter and he is in that house. He ask a guy to translate for him and the words are Good Luck.

That's what I think when I see his name.
