Greatest Player of All Time - Jim Brown

I've got to say that they must have considered pro careers in this. Jim had one great season as a senior in college and finished 6th in the Heisman. Now he's the greatest college player of all time?

i think you could have argued that he was the real heisman winner that year instead of Hornung- check out his stats. The voters made interesting decisions in 1956 is one way to describe it.

I looked at his numbers and honestly I expected more. Great ypc but only 5th in heisman . Was in beyond the numbers I guess? College I mean

Racism screwed Brown out of the Heisman.
Paul Hornung winning was a joke.
The late Dick Schaap gave up his Heisman ballot forever for Jim Brown being screwed out of the Heisman.

Brown should have gotten it.

I agree that he should have been the Heisman winner. But he wasn't and it was just one year, not a 3 or 4 year career at that level. there's no greater Jim Brown fan than me but I'm just saying that they had to have been looking at the pro career as well to ran him #1. He's the greatest player ever to have played college football but i'm not sure that makes him the greatest college football player.
