about as hard as MSG on a Tuesday afternoon. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ(n)

OK slight exaggeration. But still pretty meh.

Every NC State fan, or Duke fan or Carolina fan that I know down here in the Triangle doesn't really care at all about the ACC tournament. Every NC State fan, or Duke fan or Carolina fan that I know down here in the Triangle doesn't want the ACC tournament played in NYC at MSG. They don't care about the tournament but don't want it moved out of NC.

The ACC needs to move this snoozefest to MSG and permanently. F this Greensboro garbage. I live within driving distance of Greensboro but this tournament is wack. Maybe that will change when its full of Syracuse, Pitt, Ville and ND fans to go with Duke, UNC etc and perhaps a format change will help if they go to a afternoon/night setup with the Championship being played on Sat night and not Sunday afternoon but even after all that, it will never be MSG and the Duke and UNC fans should thank us for giving them the possibility of playing there tournament in The Garden. Also we're probably bringing the ACC Bilas, Raftery and McDonough...again your welcome.

I"m talking to my friend right now who's UNC fan and he doesn't think it should be in the Garden either.

Greensboro is to the ACC as Providence is to the Big East. The ACC has an opportunity to hold their post season tourney on a stage that matches their status as the best basketball conference in the country. Hopefully Swofford can overcome the very provincial attitude of the Triangle team fans.

just think of the sensory overload going from a state capital with one stop light and a fancy barn- you also cant use confederate dollars in nyc

You're not adding anything worthwhile to this thread.

Until the ACC gets the infusion from the Big East (SU, Pitt and Louisville) they have exactly two teams (UNC and Duke) anyone really cares about. Doesn't matter how good Miami is this year or a few of the other schools for a year or two stretch they never will get the support that teams like UNC, Duke, SU, and Louisville get during their down years.

I love when people post saying that others aren't adding anything to the thread. Kind of like when someone on Facebook posts complaining about how everyone else just complains about things. That's why I just skip posts and threads that don't interest me and probably why many skip my posts!

I would like to see this thread be a discussion, maybe, of Greensboro vs. NYC as a location for a basketball tournament. Saying "Those confederate hicks and their one light town, herpy-derp" doesn't add anything. Neither does yours. Why didn't you take your own advice and just skip my post?

A lot of people seem to be dismissing Greensboro before we have even played there. There may be some advantages - no $400 tickets, cleaner city, better weather. Could be a good road trip.

And of course for the television watching crew, the new teams will be very interesting and the marquee matchups vs Duke or UNC will be top notch.

herpy- derp

dam how did i forget herpy -derp

i must be slipping(this content added to add to the added discussion addition)

They don't care about it because they have ruled it. They're going to really hate Syracuse.

FORGET THE HICKS-REAL MEN WEAR ORANGE
If you've ever been to an SU game at the Dome, you'll know there is no shortage of hicks who are Syracuse fans.

Greensboro is a 50 mile drive from the UNC and Duke campus, 75 miles from NC state. Of course these folks don't want the tourney moved to NYC. They hate it when it visits Atlanta or DC once every 6 or 8 years. Hopefully the business people running things understand the opportunity and the vision of domination of the ENTIRE east coast and can move the thinking away from a provincial regional conference. Grow or be eaten.

Provincialism

Edit: Mad you and I must of read the same book, :D

its too big to ignore-and the acc has made quite a few good moves recently-

when its done it will happen off season so as to not rile up the rebs as much-

With the Football people disliking Carolina as much as they do, a move now with new blood coming in, and Duke liking to play in MSG every year, a change may be forced on them. Plus you know Notre Dame won't want to play in Greensboro, the price of selling your soul might very well be MSG, which at least 7 former Big East members would vote for. Florida St, Clemson would give the their votes just to stick it in the nose of UNC.

I appreciate this sentiment but I don't really agree with it. Just got back from NYC. I love that tournament and that venue so much. All my buddies in NYC love going and they couldn't care any less about college hoops. It's just a really cool event and while I admit I'm a total whiner about our ACC move, I have no problem stating that Greensboro will be a massive step down from NYC/MSG and I really think it's going to be tough to replace all the history we have most of the teams in the BE.

I hear you and I think that sentiment is all over this board. Meeting up with friends and the convenience of MSG and confusing that with unreplicable something.

Kind of like catching a Bills/Miami game in Buffalo or Miami. Yes, at Buff you will get more of your friends, but if you went to Miami it would be a pretty cool road trip. Less people will do it, but it doesn't mean it would be bad at all.

As for the history thing, it's really only about 30 years. Seems longer but it's not.

Because the comments interested me enough for me to read and make a post.
