Greg Robinson. Kenny Payne. Red Autry.

in 10 years, we’ve gone from
- Expectations to contend for a Nat’l Championship to:
- Hoping to contend for a national title to:
- aiming for a single digit seed to:
- fighting to stay off the bubble to:
- fighting to stay on the bubble to:
- at least we finished over .500 to:
- hoping to finish .500 to:
- hoping we make the ACC tourney to:
- considering 0-20 may not be outlandish

How!!?!!

It was pretty predictable. In fact it was likely given the directions things had taken. This is all a result of an agreed upon plan being broken.

It’s not rock bottom. That’s gonna come in February when this team has 2 or 3 ACC wins and is playing in front of 8,000 fans at the Dome.

It can get much worse. Think on that.

When we're NOT on the bubble for the ACC tournament and are simply out... with single digits wins and the worst record in the league.

Predictable maybe, but the speed with which the dumpster fire took hold is morbidly fascinating...

In the end, it's a good thing.

The sooner this is over the better.

I posted a couple of weeks ago the 5 or 6 decisions made that got us to this point. It should be a case to be studied. Fwiw, my post was removed.

We all know the answer to that question now, some just took longer to get there than others.

I've been saying that SU has hit rock bottom each year for basically the last 10 years. Who knows where the bottom actually is.
It sure as hell isn't under JB. Dude stuck around and gave his heart and soul and won the 2nd most games of all time. This is rock bottom what is happening rn

It's just his demanded legacy who was handed an outhouse bucket...

It's ok, it's all part of the legacy and history.

I don't think this is rock bottom. It feels like it, but take a school like Louisville. It's been almost a decade and like 5 coaches and they still haven't recovered from the Adidas thing. They went 4-28 in '23.

Don't get me wrong this year is already a write off. But we've got two talented frosh, a talented SG who might stick around, a Top 10 recruiting class, and while I don't think Red is going to dig us out of the hole we're in, the job doesn't have a cloud of doom around it for whomever's next. I'd *much* prefer our situation to Lousiville's.

But it does have a cloud of doom.

It’s been 10 years for us and it’s as bad as it’s ever been too.

The continued spiral into irrelevancy has already happened but now we’re looking at an 8-10 win season. We’re looking at games with 8k butts in the seats. Having 2 good freshmen means next to nothing in this day and age. They likely are leaving with a coaching change anyhow. Whether it’s this year or next, the new coach will likely have an almost full roster turnover, which is fine. As long as we have completely new blood leading us, we have a chance to turn it around.

The Adidas thing had the FBI writing up federal charges and the NCAA handing out sanctions. We have upset fans and losses.

I know the last 10 years have sucked, but they're not the same.

I think it could get even deeper.

There’s 2016-2021 and then there’s this. This is just a completely embarassing excuse for a basketball team where we have no shot of being competitive against teams. Lampkin was Reds choice over a Pg. He upped the hs recruiting but somehow the sum of our parts are worse than some of our individual pieces.

The battle for the city of Syracuse being a legit matchup would be a new low. Oh wait...
