Guilty Pleasures Favorite Songs From 2000-2013

{Artist: The Joy Formidable}
[Song:Whirring]

. So I find that lately I like to hear women. And I like a lot of syncopation. A lot of riff based stuff. I don't think much of these will have gotten airplay, but these are songs from 2000 to 2013 I have listened to enough that my brain Ipod can play them at will.

[Artist: The Sounds]
[Song: Painted by Numbers]

[Artist: Yeah Yeah Yeahs]
[Song: Y Control ]

Yea so everyone knows maps, but the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Karen O are awesome. This video is really weird too.

[Artist: Heartless Bastards]
[Song: Parted Ways]

The first time I heard this band was at a free outdoor event in Northside when I had moved to Cincinnati in 2006, Erika Wennstrom made a definite impression as with music, there is no faking passion...that 'ÿou got to feel it" quality that all the great blues singers have. She is an underappreciated talent, IMHO.

[Artist: Alabama Shakes]
[Song: Hold On]

You should know who Brittany Howard is. The greastest Blues artist of the current generation. This one needs a live performance.

[Artist: Magneta Lane]
[Song: Lady Bones]

Pretty raw ladies from Toronto.

This one definitely fits guilty pleasures. I hate myself that I love it.

[Artist: Sleater-Kinney]
[Song: Modern girl]

I was once told that, by knowing who this band is, I am by definition a hipster. Plus we all know I am ok with PBR. Huh? These girls have talent, It is weird but so am I.
