Guys it’s only year 4, Dino just

That's considered a victory to you now. Not losing to an Akron in year 4 of a new coach's career. How our fans expectations has fallen. 'At least we haven't got blown out to Akron'...Yay!!!

And your expectations are to be a top 25 program while having the Admin spend less than 50 other Power5 programs?

Im still behind dino but firmly believe Lynch needs to go.

Why does it bother you how others react to bad seasons? People are emotional about how things have gone. Don’t get so worked up about how people react to it. A lot of people had massive expectations. The coaching has stunk this year. I don’t root for anointed coaches. I root for SU. If it’s DIno, it’s Dino. If it’s Shaffer, it’s Shaffer. Even GERG i rooted for till the end. These aren’t bad guys. But they occasionally and sometimes perpetually coach bad.

I’m not going all in on anything. Something has to change. I suspect Dino has to adapt to the ACC and his system. Definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting diff results.
Good post. Im all SU. The coach works for the University and the students, their parents and the fans who pay his salary. I think Dino is our best bet. I also think he has his flaws like we all do. I hope that he hires the best staff possible as SU needs exceptional coaches to become consistently good vs occasionally great. The regression on Offense isnt all on the Oline or Tommy. My opinion is that Lewis was a much better OC than Mike. As to our OL coach the smoke out of Nebraska seems accurate. He needs to be replaced. I think the D is fine. We do need another dynamic recruiter but all in all a new OC and OLine coach is a must. I hope Dino has the stones to make changes as his future depends on it.

Itvwe be ok if we were 51st in any ranking system that counts but we are more in the 90-110 range right now

In 2019 college football my expectations are to be a team that is in the top 25 ~3 years...with maybe a top 10/borderline conference title caliber team 1-2 times a decade. The other 70% of the time I want a team that is in the 6-8 win range most years with the idea that there will be a couple bad years during that stretch.

I think thats reasonable even within the $ parameters.

Of course when we had Freeneys and McNabbs and Dariuses we should have been competing for a national title but expectations change over time.

As an aside. I am very concerned that even if Dino gets a roster 100% of his guys in his spots...I dont know that I trust he and his coaches will know how to properly use them. I am stunned at how little the offense has been adapted to try to operate within that very narrow lane that we can safely call Devito's comfort zone.
I think the problem is this offensive unit is so bad I’m not sure anything works for with any success for that long. There is little confidence in that unit to do anything positive.

I think the expectations were to look at least like a middle of the road D1 team who while taking a step back was still a bowl team and competent in all facets. Instead our offense is Robinson level bad and we have all the hallmarks of a bottom barrel team ie bad line play, a million penalties, zero clock management, etc etc.

95% of this board thought this team was a top 25 squad in August, I must have missed the concern about spending then because I dont recall any posts about it. In fact if I went back and looked I guarantee you were probably predicting 9+ wins .

It is when everyone thought we were orange bowl bound before the season even started

Yeah, but it was clear we were way off base after the first quarter against Liberty.

Yes. We were 15 last year, Returning alot of talent to remain in the top 25 this year. Who's fault is that?

We did NOT return that much talent. We really only returned our secondary and D-Lone. Everything else saw a lot of turnover.

That's fair, and you're right I did think this team could win 8+ games this year. But I'm not jumping off the Dino bandwagon after year 4

i guess the question when evaluating any employees performance is did he :
a. meet
b. exceed
c. fail
to meet desired expectations.

Excuses, Excuses, Excuses.
We had a QB who played alot last yr. played really well. We had most of RB back with a OKla. transfer, We had 4 of our top receivers returning, with a Mich St transfer... We had most of our DBs, DL. Had 2 Sr. LBs returning one with alot of experience, 3 OL with significant starting experience. We should have had a few players able to step up and fill in to maintain the momentum. Any other view is denial. Something happened and I can't figure it out. I have no idea why a solid team is playing so poorly. Coleman and Robinson should be dominating. Ruff and Black should be better. Our DBs have alot of experience. We can't stop anyone.

I . . . I do. I thought that was clear from my post.
Just feel as though some of that would leak onto the field, no? Either the coaching staff has lost control of the team completely, as they looked beyond disinterested today or there's no talent. Either way its a bad look.

Whats the definition of jumping off the bandwagon?

Here's where I am. I now believe that last year was more about the players and less about the coaching. I also think this year is more about the players than the coaching. But I think both have been worse this year. I like Dino, and am hopeful he figures this out, but he needs a new OC and the rest of his coaching staff needs to figure out a way to get a JuCo in here that can challenge TD if not take the job. I cannot watch another year of this godawful offense. If we enter 2019 with out changes to at least 2 of OC, QB, and offensive gameplan, I WILL start to seriously doubt whether Dino can get it done.
