Guy with mike: "What's it like to twice drive into South Carolina territory and fumble?"

Bo Pellini: "We gotta do better."

What's it like????

This should have been on the football board, (I've been switching back and forth today), but it applies to basketball jsut as well.

I don't really get the point of the halftime interviews, it's not like the coaches are going to say anything other than generic coach-speak.

Erin Andrew's standard question: "What was working for you tonight?"

The job is pretty useless.

The the whole thing is a charade designed to make viewers feel the TV crew is working and they're getting some unique insight.
In reality it's almost always inane fluff.

I've never heard a coach say, "In the second half we're going to come out and work pick and rolls because I don't think they'll recognize the mismatches we're going to create with our weak side forward. Their coach is really a dunce."

So it is a useless job that most of us could do just as well as the people we see doing it.

I hate it. You can tell almost all of the coaches hate it. And while I am a it, I hate the baseball manager interviews during the games. Stay out of it.

These are the worst. Hall of famers that are deceased and baseball purists would be turning over in their graves at this sideshow.

Erin Andrew's standard question: "What was working for you tonight?"

Standard answer: "That sweater you're wearing."

One of the best interviews of this type that I've ever seen (it actually came at the end of a game) was when a female reporter asked Mike Leach (who had just had Gatorade dumped on him) if "that was one of the most satisfying dumps you've ever had?"

That was Suzy Shuster (who's married to Rich Eisen). Sadly, I've never been able to find video of this online.
