Happy Chinese New Year everyone!!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

I never understood pinyin. You would think pinyin would spell Chinese words will normal phonetics. At least that way Westerners had a slight chance of getting it right!

No doubt my friend, but for me? It's the Monday evening after a super bowl party and this work day was extra slow. I'm lucky to spell my own name right now. :)

I understood Gong Xi Fa Cia. I was just saying pinyin in general. I tried learning Mandarin. It's a very hard language to learn.

I am not familiar with pinyin either since I am from Taiwan, where people think we are dealing with the most complicated political situation against China. Chinese communist destroyed everything including traditional Chinese characters to build up a "New China" in 1949, but we Taiwan still use traditional stuff like "Zhu-Yin" (ㄅㄆㄇㄈ) instead of pinyin.

Chinese is hard to learn. So why not learn 我們是冠軍 (wo men shi guan jun) which means We Are the Champion - as one of the New Year's resolution to begin with?! ;) :) ;)

I think it is important to be able to say at least "Hello", "Thank you" and something akin to "go yourself" in as many languages as possible

I am fluent in those 3 things in 30+

Anyone who wishes to further my education, please feel free.

and to those who celebrate:

新年好 / 新年好

恭喜发财 / 恭喜發財

步步高升 / 步步高陞

สุขสันต์วันปีใหม่ขอให้มีความสุขกายสบายใจปราศจากทุกข์โศกโรคภัยทั้งหลายทั้งปวง

신년을 축하합니다.

새해 복 많이 받으세요

Năm mới dồi dào sức khỏe

Năm mới tấn tài tấn lộc

Chúc mau chóng tìm được người yêu
