Here we go again

The original post by RRRlbs was not telling them what to do, but that they should not call themselves Orange fans after selling their tickets to Dukies.

Some of those Duke fans were actually local people who have SU season tickets, usually support SU, but are Duke alums. I would give them a pass. I sat near a few of those.

That's different .. in that case, they're sitting in their own seats. They can root for whoever they want. My gripe is with (so-called) Su fans making money by selling their seats to a Duke fan. Everyone around them has to suffer, and the home advantage is dimished each time. Maybe there weren't that many, but if you think it's not a big deal, try getting a ticket to see SU play at CI.

Question.

Who is more of a fan.

A. Person who doesn't have a lot of money, buys the packages and supplements the cost by selling tickets to one or two games but goes to every other game.

B. Or the fans that go to one or two games a year. And don't stop talking or posting on Facebook about the games they go to.

Please tell us how to guarantee a sale to an SU fan while obtaining near market value for those tickets. If you know of a way then it'd be a win-win-win solution.

Try advertising your seats on here. That's how I got my tickets to Villanova -- and thank god the SU fan who sold them to me made sure I was an SU fan (He obviously respects his school and those sitting around him). It's not that hard to post your seats.

Very well said! Those people are somebody's mom, dad, father or son and they are being judged do to having the wrong seats or because they came to enjoy their team play basketball live. The people judging shouldn't go to away games if they play by their own rules. This is beyond silly.

I can remember several threads that were slamming fans of teams that we played on the road and how Cuse fans were treated.

Let us know how your lynch mob goes. Maybe you will run in to the wrong person.

No one (at least not that I've seen on here) is suggesting that SU fans should be anything but polite to opposing fans who attend the games. I was at the Nova game, and a nice gentleman and his son (a Nova student) sat in front of me. We chatted the whole game, there was nothing untoward on either side. And I didn't see anyone being rude to this dad or his son.

What I'm saying is that SU "fans" should think twice about selling tickets to opposing fans. It diminishes the home advantage and can, in some cases, subject the seat neighbors to (potentially) raucus behavior the entire game. Why? If you're in need of money, just post your seats on here and check that the purchaser is an SU fan. It's not hard. We don't have to be rude, or hate the opposing fans that come. Just don't sell them tickets.

Here's an example: At the Clemson (fb) game this past season, my section (seasons/preferred) had a shocking number of really obnoxious Clemson fans. They strolled in like they owned the place, called SU a "high school team" (admitedly we didn't play well). No, they were not violent, but they were intoxicated and rude ... and extremely loud the whole game. It wasn't fun for those of us trying to support our team. For those whose seats were sold to those fans, well, thanks a bunch.

Well put and I agree with a lot that you stated. Is it ok to approach our own season ticket holders with the lynch mob mentality like some have suggested here? Is it alright to call fans of the opposition scumbags? I would prefer to act like adults and be mature. I think there is a lot of wasted energy spent on worrying about what other people do with their own property (tickets).

Anyhow, I have probably spent too much time on this subject. I will try to be done with it.
