Seriously, it is very good to see Clemson ranked in football and hoops. I am disliking Carolina coalition less and less. Having Clemson, FSU and Miami (and even VATech) play hoops at higher levels really helps to shift the power of the conference. Now if we could only get Miami, FSU and VATech to play football...

Not really, I wouldn't accuse anyone of that. I just had to say it because five years ago, people forgot SU played football and no one knew Clemson had a hoops team. Gotta have some fun with the irony.

just a guess but those of us that have been with su sine the late 50's early 60's are foot ball folks. hoops began in the late 60's for real.imo we(i) am also a huge hoops fan. i only have seasons for football

Great history in three sports, the two big money makers and the fastest growing sport. All time leaders in all three sports, history out the wazoo in all three sports. How anyone can label SU as a one sport school is beyond reason.

I get the players of the game today may not recall SU history, but their parents do, as do their grandparents. I meet people all the time who know about SU FOOTBALL history, in addition to hoops.

In football we only have five AP Top 10 finishes in our history, and haven't made a run at a national title in over a half century. We have never hosted College Gameday. Our Dome is half empty much of the time. We just went almost a decade stretch between Saturday primetime nationally televised games.

I think our football program is absolutely trending in the right direction, and that we were both a football and basketball school in the 1990s, but in 2018, we are a basketball school.

You sir, are being ridiculous. Eric15 laid it out perfectly. We are without a doubt a basketball school first, and I am a die-hard for both football and basketball. Maybe 1 day we'll get there in football, but it's not even close right now. We're in the top 25 in football for the 1st time in 17 years. Please find me a stretch where it was that long for basketball. I'm guessing pre JB.

Last year, when we were 7-10 in conference in the ACC and completely off the bubble, we had the biggest on-campus crowd of the college basketball season against Clemson. There is always buzz around our basketball program under basically all circumstances.
