Just finished watching the game. Referees screwed is without a doubt. But we deserved to lose the game. White technical let Hofstra go on a run. And his FT shooting really hurt. How does Anthony leave the best 3-point shooter wide open for the game winning shot. And then he misses a FT. We were lucky to lose by only 1. Huge nail in the coffin for making the tournament.

Please don't reply to this with "we deserved to lose" because I clearly know that. But, did the ref think Kiyan randomly threw the ball in the air out of bounds WITHOUT getting hit?

One thing I will say, Kyle’s improvement from the FT is substantial. At least one person working at it

There's no such thing as "deserving to lose." You score more points and you win. We should have had the chance to do so. Playing bad and winning is fine. Scoring more points means you played less bad than the opponent.

Not for a long time. A guy that needs to share in the blame is JB. He ran us down by selfishly staying too long. Of course we didn't hire the right replacement. That is the largest part of the blame pie. The very largest. But we weren't Syracuse for a long time.

During the game the announcers said JB remarked that Kyle is the hardest worker he’s ever seen at SU

Now, JB says things and he lives to exaggerate.

But I suspect the reason why Kyle is getting better at FTs, while the rest of the team still sucks, is because Kyle is putting the work in. The rest of the team is not. And I wouldn’t be surprised if the staff is not placing any urgency on it. The coaching here is abysmal.

When you shoot. 9-16 from the FT line, let the other team, which had been shooting 35% from 3, shoot 12-18 from 3, show a total inability to attack a zone defense, mouth off and get a technical which turns the momentum around, leave the other team’s best 3-point shooter wide open for the game winning points, you deserve to lose the game.

That was 4 years ago,the JB blame game ended the minute he walked out the door. If Louisville and ISU can come back over night after a coach left them in the dirt, so could Syracuse. The issue is Syracuse has boosters making excuses for a glorified modified coach

It was time for JB to retire. The question was whether we should have immediately looked outside the program for a replacement. As of right now the answer should have been “yes”.

Kiyan gets pummeled a lot.
