Holiday Bowl Postgame

Honest question that maybe should be its own poll…

Which 3 loss finish would you rather have had? SMU or Cuse?

dominant Holiday Bowl victory and a 10-3 finish.

Or losing a heartbreaker in the conference championship and essentially getting smoked in the first playoff game?

Call me crazy but the vibes right now are damned near perfect. Finishing the way SMU did wouldn’t feel nearly as good, even though they do get to say they made the playoff. We get to say we are building and are finishing on a run with momentum heading into the offseason and starting spring ball in a few weeks.

That's kind of a loaded way to ask that though. I would take the playoff shot anyday, but it's different if it's being assumed we would've gotten smoked.

Yeah, I’ll take a playoff loss all day.

But this season has ended in a joyous way for us.

Someone just posted on twitter(who has a blue check mark) that McCord is going to announce he’s coming back in his press conference. I doubt it but would be interesting
Anyone can buy that check mark now.

After the all ACC team came out, there was a lot of debate about where Laquint should have been. Then I saw the stat today that no running back in the entire country IN10 YEARS has had 900 yards and 60 catches. Then today he went over 1000+ the 60 catches. If the all ACC team was picked after the bowl games, he would be second team. He is truly unique as a player and role model. I hope he comes back.

Agree. It is weird though how in CFB there are about 40 teams that end their season with a post season W.

The way I look at it is this, SMU got exposed as a paper tiger who took advantage of a weak schedule. They played two competitive teams to finish the year and lost both.

Could we have competed in the first round of the playoffs? We will never know of course. But when we had to play a playoff caliber squad in Miami, we competed like crazy and won the game (albeit at home).

Fran has plenty to sell on the trail this year and tons of belief pouring through his program that everyone can see and feel.

Is it perfect? Of course not, but if you got to pick between an a$$ kicking on national TV in the playoffs, or this as the final moment of the season. I’m picking this one for setting up the future of the program

HUUUGE credit to McCord, Allen and Gadsden for playing this game. 3 weeks ago I was sure they’d opt out. And I wouldn’t have been mad.

Love that they love SU, Fran and football enough to play.

Will Villari still get paid for that egg nog NIL deal?

Miami was also a fraud though

Glad this game is on Fox. ESPN bowl games don't do post game show and interviews.
yes, that was a nice bonus, on-air coverage, I think ESPN puts it on ESPN+, which can be a PITA to find it

Surprised you don't have '92 on there. We finished ranked higher than '91, had the exciting game against Miami, and beat a great Colorado team in the Fiesta Bowl.
Like I said…that I remember. You’re right. 92 was better than 91. Sorry I made a mistake.
