Great game !!! I wish WSU wasnt depleted, but you can only play the opponents put in front of you.

Despite the shaky start, I never doubted that we would win, and when they pinned us at the 6 and then we easily marched 94 for the TD, it was obvious they werent going to stop us all game !!!

This has been about as fun a season for Cuse football as we have experienced in many, many years.

Oh wow nice...I was friends with 2 Jills while we were all going to Niagara. My brother went to Niagara in the late 80s and the little city was nice...when I was there 10 years later NF was a crack infested dump. But the University was still nice.

Which 3 loss finish would you rather have had? SMU or Cuse?

dominant Holiday Bowl victory and a 10-3 finish.

Or losing a heartbreaker in the conference championship and essentially getting smoked in the first playoff game?

Call me crazy but the vibes right now are damned near perfect. Finishing the way SMU did wouldn’t feel nearly as good, even though they do get to say they made the playoff. We get to say we are building and are finishing on a run with momentum heading into the offseason and starting spring ball in a few weeks.

I’d take this every single time - Holiday Bowl champs celebrating in San Diego vs taking a bad L in cold azz happy valley.

That coach is a good dude from everything ive witnessed.

Yeah. He was choking up at one point during the in game interview with the sideline reporter. Definitely an emotional time for him.

96 was good too, I remember thoroughly enjoying that New Year's Day 41-0 beatdown of Clemson, I think it was the Gator Bowl

I think the gator bowl was after the '95 season.

Edit: I just looked it up. Gator was after '95 and Liberty was after '96. '96 was a year we got screwed over. We had the same conference record at VPI and beat them head to head but they were chosen for the Orange Bowl instead of us.

Flutie wasn’t playing in 79. He was in HS, just like me.

Just noticed that Callahan, the starting LS didn't play, but Stangle the back-up did.

That would explain the bad snap on the missed FG.

FYI, Flutie played at BC from 1981-1984. He won the Heisman in 1984.

How was Miami a fraud? We’re clearly a top 15 to 20 team. Georgia Tech was peeking and beat them in a tough game right before they took Georgia to eight overtimes. Miami is pretty great, we’re just better. It doesn’t make them frauds.

I’ve always despised the overrated chant. I’ve never understood why fans would want to diminish an accomplishment of their own team.

Our offense can play with anyone. Our defense couldn't. That is what has me so concerned about next year. We lose what good defense we had. I asked who on the defense could be all-league next year and really got very tepid answers. We have to hit the portal hard for defensive help. Real hard.

He's a divisive player on the board but I really like Devin Grant. He's a playmaker. He needs to tackle better. If he cleans it up he will be all-conference.

I also like Watson and Perry at DT.
