Home and Home Series You Wanna See This Decade

UCLA

Home and home with football and basketball.

Year 1: Football in the Rose Bowl and basketball in the Dome.

Year 2: Football in the Dome and basketball in Pauley Pavilion.

Syracuse has a large alumni base in Southern California and gets plenty of applicants each year from California.

Both football and basketball have recruited Southern California and could benefit from increased exposure in the area.

I'll start off:

We are due for a West Coast Trip

San Diego State if we can get them away in early November off a bye or the last weekend of the season.

New Stadium opening soon, great trip. Yes they are a G5 team but it would be a very competitive game.

2nd West Coast Choice

UCLA

We haven't played them in like 60 years. Actually with the Alliance this might be more likely than SDSU.

The Rose Bowl is a bucket list for most.
I was a freshman in 1964 when Jim Nance and Floyd Little beat the crap out of UCLA 39 to zilch. IIRC, it was a pretty cold day (maybe snow flurries?) and the UCLAns played in their light-weight crop-top jerseys.

The fall is beautiful in Myrtle Beach and would love to take that road trip.

In a couple of years, if we get to the point where we're fielding a competitive team, then a Duffy Daugherty grudge match with MSU could be fun.

I use Cuse football as a good reason to visit places I had never previously been - Louisiana, Louisville, Mount Pleasant, Michigan. So I'd love to have some of those late 2000s - early 2010s home and homes now that I can actually afford to go. Iowa, Minnesota, U Dub would all be series I'd be interested in reviving.

Nebraska. It's the perfect opponent. It may literally be a sellout at the Dome due to the combination of them bringing their usual 5-10k fans and bringing out the casual SU fan.

And they are an average team on the field so we could win one if not both.

The Cornhuskers have still not recovered from the loss in the Carrier dome on Saturday September 29th 1984 they want nothing to do with us.
