Going into my freshman year at Syracuse, I didn't really watch a lot of college basketball. I loved the NBA (and other sports). However, Stevie Thompson got me excited immediately with Cuse when going to games. Just a freak of an athlete that guy was.

Wasn’t it the same picture (not pictures) where he was sitting on what looked like a folding chair but strangely no one was around him despite people claiming he was at a game recruiting? Heck of a game full of recruits with no other spectators isn’t it, yet none of our internet sleuths noticed to even mention it? Just googled it and found an article about it that I never saw before. Fake news has been going on for quite a while I guess.Mountains out of fake molehills. It could have just been a funny little find instead of a stupid indictment about work ethic etc.

The '90 team lost to Minnesota in the Sweet 16. Then the Gophers lost to GaTech, with freshman Kenny Anderson.

No, that was the following year that we lost to Richmond. In the 1989-1990 tournament, we lost to Minnesota.

The Coleman / Thompson / Owens eras were done by 1991 and we slid into the probation zone by 1993. I think our low was the 30 point beatdown in the 1993 BE Final against Seton Hall. Then Moten and Wallace brought us out of the ashes.
