I dunno Dash I think the number of people willing and able to give $100 is WAY less (like an order of magnitude less) than 100k. Times are tough for a lot of families coming out of a pandemic and $100 is a lot of money for many people. Especially for an extremely non-essential cause. How many that would be willing to give $100 to a collective? Have to be over 100k
wouldn't you think? The university has to be more proactive on this.
Hopefully this is why JB has an office in the Melo Center.I mean can’t this be a box you check when renewing season tickets? Buying single game tickets?
Gotta be an easy way. Anyway, we need to go after more whales. We have some, just need to tap into them.
My biggest concern about the fan base is it’s age. When I was a kid, EVERY kid in town was repping SU gear, all my friends watched the games. Sadly I don’t think that is the case anymore. How many that would be willing to give $100 to a collective? Have to be over 100k

It's the 2 dollar window that keeps race tracks open. It's the dollar slots that keep casino's open. Whales are great. But blocking and tackling win games. I also think there are a lot more than 100k Syracuse fans.I mean can’t this be a box you check when renewing season tickets? Buying single game tickets?

100k Syracuse fans? Or, 100K Syracuse fans WILLING to give to NIL?It's the 2 dollar window that keeps race tracks open. It's the dollar slots that keep casino's open. Whales are great. But blocking and tackling win games. I also think there are a lot more than 100k Syracuse fans.
Depends on how it is sold and how much a particular fan wants to win. How many active board members do we have and how many give to the fine mess collective? This might help, if it’s a sort of “round up” thing, like donating to the Salvation Army during Christmas.
Most people won’t donate a nickel to NIL though, and I can’t blame them. I’m a big fan and have given lots of money (by my standards) to SU. I haven’t (and probably won’t) ever give to NIL, short of buying a kids shirt. I just don’t think it’s a good use of my money.
Agree with the points above. I think I would be fine with a contribution option if tied to my seasons. I am making a decision to spend at that time and would likely be inclined to make a Nil donation at that point. I would rather do that than get pinged with multiple requests to donate. Also create an opt out for any other solicitations from the AD if you agree to make a Nil donation at the time of purchase.I mean can’t this be a box you check when renewing season tickets? I think there are more than 100k Syracuse fans. I am hoping that we have 100k willing to give to a collective. People want to win. I hope.100k Syracuse fans? Or, 100K Syracuse fans WILLING to give to NIL?
All I can give is my personal circumstance. I'm retired at age 54, in Southern California; not the cheapest place to live in the world. I want SU to win, like the days of my youth. I'm able, but unwilling to donate to NIL. Just my situation.I think there are more than 100k Syracuse fans. I am hoping that we have 100k willing to give toa collective. People want to win. I hope.

Agreed. I have much worthier causes to give my money to.Just speaking for myself. Can’t say that I’d spend $100 on NIL. I have two young children who already take enough out of my bank account. Not about to spend money helping pay a random 20 year old to play basketball.

Okay. It isn't for everyone. I know I am in a different situation than most. But I bet there are a lot of people out there that would donate if they were asked. They aren't being asked. That is my main point. I give to St Jude's first and foremost. And to Syracuse veterans fund (for my late father) but I will donate $100 to a collective if I was asked.Just speaking for myself. I was thinking once a year. And I do not view it as giving the money to some 20 year old. I look at it as spending money for my viewing pleasure. Much like I do for all the extras with my tv viewing.I would take the under. Also, would they give once? Twice? Every month/year?
I was thinking once a year.
I would without a doubt give money to a collective that was targeting men's basketball and football. I would want to know how the $ is being used, how we are trying to keep or obtain talent. If there are more specifics, more targeted marketing then there would be more donations. Right now it appears there is a website link but little elseOkay. It isn't for everyone. You’re a better man than me.I'd probably donate somewhere between 2-5K per year. Would probably lead me to donate less to the university though.
