Howard imo will always be an Orangeman but I'm also glad for him that he's playing in his zip code where he should be able to be a starting pg and play entire games.
Good for Howard. Honestly, that’s a higher level mid-major than I expected but they take in a ton of transfers. Hopefully he can get some real burn and compete for a conference title or two in a smaller league.
on the syracuse basketball team i bet it's still pretty awesome. i would have taken that in a heartbeat.
Appreciate the perspective! It's fun if you can kinda set aside your actual desire to play, but it's also a ton of work that you know almost certainly will never be rewarded outside of getting to hang out with the guys and the perks that come from that.
I went through this same thing when I was deciding if I wanted to try to make it as a walk-on. I ended up deciding I just wouldn't be able to handle that mentally. One of my old high school friends ended up deciding the opposite and he made it and enjoyed the hell out of it. I think it would have driven me nuts personally though it undoubtedly would be a unique experience that not many people get to have.
He was never getting PT competing against our HOF backcourt duo- you just had to play those other two studs a minimum 36 minutes per game!
Seriously though, he deserved better than he got here. For that i blame JB and his short bench fetish. And no, I still haven’t let it go.
It is, or was, what it is...or was.
Will I know the price for the shirts before or after checkout?Shirt World is there to meet your needs.
Ummm, no. He was getting spot duty at best. A couple minutes here & there. Too lazy to look it up but his most PT in a game had to be 10-15 mins maybe, w/ a lot of that being garbage time? So he goes 0-3 in spot duty and sits for 3 games in a row, gets in again goes 0-2 and it’s back to the bench? Meanwhile, JG3 is hoisting 30 fters at will and playing to exhaustion, and w/ little repercussions. If he could hit an uncontested open jump shot he has a role.
Very small and physically just notACC level. Health issues probably hindered his ability to hit the weight room.

Really didn’t wanna beat this dead horse but Stevie Wonder could see where he stood on this team. I just feel JB’s philosophy a’la nurturing/developing his bench has over the years, been very lacking. JMHO.
Good luck to H.W. .
Howard Washington had no business getting real minutes for Syracuse. I vividly remember at the end of the VT win they were blatantly ignoring him when we were on offense. HoWa not getting burn wasn’t because JB doesn’t like to play his bench, it’s because he’s not an ACC-level basketball player. He was never getting PT competing against our HOF backcourt duo- you just had to play those other two studs a minimum 36 minutes per game!

After such a completely disappointing season, except the last game, I’m still shocked people hold these views.Howard Washington had no business getting real minutes for Syracuse. I like the kid and I hope he can be a solid mid-major starter but I don’t think it’s fair to say he deserved better than he got here.
I was as let down last season as anyone else here but, in my opinion, giving HoWa more minutes wasn’t the answer. Having a 3rd guard who is an ACC-level talent is the answer (hopefully Kadary this season)After such a completely disappointing season, except the last game, I’m still shocked people hold these views.

No, giving buddy and joe more minutes infinitely improved our defense. hope JB ignores the new guards as well this year.I was as let down last season as anyone else here but, in my opinion, giving HoWa more minutes wasn’t the answer.
