My question on wanting Cisse over Dickinson: If we start Judah/JJ/Chance, wouldn't they benefit from having a Big who would need to be guarded on the perimeter, thus opening up driving lanes? And wouldn't that squad need more shooting anyway?

Sorry, I intetpreted your post differently than what you meant. Glad you were being positive. I am bullish on Brown.

And I apologize my response was overly a-holeish.

Yeah, I wasn’t saying anything negative. I’ve been high on Brown most of the year. Maybe the part about “he’s not going to outmuscle” people was taken the wrong way. What I meant with that, he’s never going to be a guy that is a physical presence inside like Arinze was. But I didn’t mean he wouldn’t get bigger/stronger than he is. He’s just a different type of inside player than Arinze but I love Browns game. Things just happen for him, he’s always in the right spot. He’s got a feel on the court that you can’t teach IMO.

I agree and personally I think either would be fantastic. If we actually had a choice it would likely come down to reds preference as far as team DNA.

As you point out, HD opens our offense up tremendously. Cisse would be cleaning boards, taking oops, blocking shots and starting the deadliest fast break in the ACC. I for one would be thrilled with a capital T to get either.

Are Cisse and Dickinson the only real targets out there at this point? Wouldn't mind taking a look at Kenny Pohto too

its a good question - I dont think the perfect center exists...would be nice if that spot could hit a jump shot consistently though - no denying that...would open the offense up a ton

I dont think scoring will be much of an issue even though there arent necessarily any dead eye 3 point specialists on the team...so I personally would lean towards defense over a center who is below par offensively...rim protection will be key...although I suppose Hima and the other young bigs can handle that just fine.

A center that can play offense would be amazing...you gotta think a player like HD would get so many points off of drive and kicks and lobs with that backcourt...like Jesse on steroids.

doubtful. I think they're considering a lot of kids.

Cisse would be a great get. I'm starting to come around to the idea of that he would be better for the team (probably less of a $$ impact than Hunter and nearly as valuable).

I just started a recruiting thread on Pohto. Has some real flashes of a young Jesse imo

Yeah I wouldn’t be disappointed at all with Cisse. What I like mostly about HD is the unknowns, scoring wise with our new guys. We know they can score but it might take them some time to get acclimated with the system, etc. HD brings that ability to score and take some pressure off the guards. However, Cisse can take pressure off the guards in other ways as well. I’d be just as thrilled with Cisse if we could land him. I think he’d be a great fit.

Is Cisse a rim runner? Can he be a college version of what Capella did with Harden?

Brown can be a rebounder along the lines of DC without guite the hops.
Most rebounds as Bill Russell said are below the rim.

Thanks for posting those clips. Hadn't really seen or heard much about him to be honest. Of course, with our regression in recent years I have really only watched our team.

I was very impressed watching his shot blocking technique. He seemed very structured on that aspect of his game and knew exactly when to leap and where his hands should be. Reminds me a lot of one of our previous better blockers from the good old days - Etan Thomas.

He's got great instincts and he deceptively quick. He's able to move players who need to be moved.

I'd take him in a heart beat.
