If that ayyy-hole Hurley wanted the last image of him to be emotionally walking off the court arm-in-arm with his seniors, that should have been the last thing he did, instead of acting like a dee-bag and disrupting another team that was about to play with his baby act.

It would be one thing if it was genuine. It was so fake. He’s always been an odd fidget, ever since he played for Seton Hall. I will give him credit for something, he has overcome something horribly wrong with him ( what ever it is), to become a somewhat competent basketball coach..

Indiana for years allowed Bobby Knight to get away with outlandish and reprehensible behavior which encouraged him to get even more ridiculous as time went by. It didn’t have to end the way that it did with “Knight” if the AD and the powers that be at Indiana showed early on who’s the boss and demanded that he changed his ways.

Thats the craziest part, because not only is Mullen a piece of garbage for making threats, but he is incredibly stupid to think that this incident would have any serious effect on Hurley's reputation. Hurley has said crap like that a million times over already! Why would one more instance of Hurley being Hurley need such an over the top response to try and cover it up? No he doesn’t have the right to act like the a@@ of a jack because he is winning. That was my point and why he should be reined in by the AD and the school powers (trustees or whoever is in control). I was reacting and responding to your reply that my sentiments were nice and winning trumps all. Winning doesn’t have to trump all. A school can say that although you are running a winning program, the university is more than a winning sports team and we need you to represent the university better or else. Sometimes people and organizations need to stand for something more than winning. Here I go again with nice sentiments. But, if Indiana would have stood up to Coach Knight much earlier and threaten to fire him and be ready to stand by it, he would not have terrorized the team and reporters all the years that he did. Loudmouth and bullies are generally cowards who get away with things if allowed to, and if the people that govern or have the power relinquishes it to them.

Couldn't agree more. I mean, good lord, if "we couldn't make shots" is viewed nowadays as throwing respective players under the bus, well, that speaks for itself. Although, it does fit right in with the modern day culture, candy coating nature, etc. of dealing with honesty. The 'ol adage; "the truth hurts" and bestowing "tough love," etc. that assisted with iron sharpening iron is unfortunately, for the most part, in the rear view today.

As a Connecticut resident for the last 5 years or so, my friend group is pro Hurley in both antics and coaching. They have the “he’s a d bag, but he’s our d bag” approach.

I will say, if you guys have ESPN+, I recommend watching “The Other Hurley.” Good insight on his upbringing, dealing with mental health as a kid, etc.
