I am seriously tired of the SEC...

I know I won't watch more than to tune in briefly to check the score. It's stupid to start a game on a Monday that won't end until midnight and I just don't care to watch a rematch from a few weeks ago of teams I'm tired of hearing about.

College football has now become what college basketball has been for years to me. I watch SU and that’s it. My two favorite sports have been destroyed. It’s a shame because they both were such a big part of my life back in the day.

College Football has fallen down the Major League Baseball trap, once it became a function of Local Television revenues enriching certain ball clubs versus others with lesser markets, and they would just buy every top Free Agent off-season...

I was a Yankees fan but haven't watched an inning in at least 5 years. I recently switched to YouTubeTV and they don't have YES but I didn't even consider it for a second (although annoyingly some SU Football and Basketball games are still on there for some reason).

College Football has ruined itself. The "smarter-than-you" types think they've nailed it with the NIL, but any non-moron can see that if you're willing to buy out a College Football coach for $100 MILLION now, you've likely been paying players for YEARS and thus it's not a fair playing field, and hasn't been for a while.

Won't watch next week.

At least in CBB more than 2 teams have a shot every year.

Pretty much all the CFP semifinals except for 2-3 games have been lopsided

Playoff should just be the winner of each P5 championship and 1 voted on at large G5. Limits SEC exposure to one team and better interest pull from other regions outside the SEC footprint. Indys can get bent

Both games yesterday were boring

I may not watch the National Championship.

The sport is becoming too regional.

Definitely where I’m at except I’m almost positive I’m not watching any of it. Just don’t care even though it could be a good game. Just have very little interested in watching either team and could care less who wins/losses

Stop watching. Stop caring. There is no actual value to the game(s). What gives Bama, UGA, OSU, ND, etc. any worth is that people care enough about them to watch their games, buy their merch, etc. Want to help level the playing field, don't watch anything or purchase anything that benefits those teams, the SEC, Texas, etc.

Yep. There's even more to it than that. In football, you have the serious factory schools that generally win it all.

In hoops, you can have a Gonzaga, a small school in freaking Spokane Washington, not even in a major conference. And they can play with anyone. You have Nova, a small school in Philly. Even Duke, when you get right down to it. An outstanding academic institution, about 60% of its enrollment is grad students, and they play in a gym that seats fewer than Manley Field House used to. Say what you will, and they are certainly a perennial power, but it isn't remotely like the insanity of a Bama for football.

Sure, these schools make $$$ from hoops. But the whole approach is light years different from the factories of the football powers.

I'll probably tune in to part of the NC game. I won't watch much of it though. Oh boy; a replay of the SEC championship game. It means sooo much to me (voice dripping with sarcasm). When it comes to bowls, I watch SU (on those rare occasions...) plus the undergrad and grad alma maters of my sons. I may watch 5 minutes here and there of other bowls if I am flipping between channels, but there are too many, the Pawnee Li'l Sebastian Bowl or the Mt. Pilot Barney Fife Bowl or whatever simply hold no interest for me.

Huh. I didn't realize Confucius was a UMass fan.
UMASS has assembled quite an excellent coaching staff, one might say a B1G coaching staff. And they out recruited the Orange for Rudolph, in case no one noticed.

the Mt. Pilot Barney Fife Bowl
I'd pay good money to watch that comedy gold. Barney, Floyd, Goober, and Gomer reffing? Sign me up. Sideline refreshments by Aunt Bea. Would be far better than the upcoming Saban Suck-Off broadcast.

Every year I am excited and almost without fail, the CFB semifinals stink. That’s a bad batting average. There have been two good games in eight years: Clemson-OSU and UGA-Oklahoma.
There was also OSU Bama the first year, but your point obviously stands. Those games sucked last night.

The Alabama/UGA game is going to be a no holds barred cage match that nobody knows who is going to win. Nick Saban was an assistant coach at SU and Saint Doug is an alumni and ex-head coach of the Orange. I'm compelled an am pushing all my chips on the Tide. Roll damn Tide!!! Always hated Georgia.

Eh, outside of Syracuse and the occasional high profile ACC game, the SEC is all I watch when it comes to college football.

It probably helps that I live in SEC country, so everyone I know is a fan of Clemson/FSU/SEC, but the rest of CFB just needs to get better.

ACC is probably closest to the SEC in terms of athletes but is way off when it comes to culture/atmosphere.

B1G has the culture/atmosphere but not the athletes.

Big XII/PAC/G5… haha, no.

I’m genuinely interested in Bama/UGA. They are clearly the two best teams. Not their fault Michigan and Cincinnati, the 3 & 4 teams in the nation, are pathetically mismatched.

I'd watch it too, especially if they could work Ernest T. Bass into the officiating crew. Total mayhem.

But that is not what you'd get. They would just use Barney's name in the name of the bowl and then add on an obscure corporate sponsor so that the whole thing would take up far more words than necessary: The Time Magazine Person of the Year Issue Mt. Pilot Barney Fife Bowl featuring teams with 6-6 records from conferences where you have never heard of at least one member school. Then during the game, they can show a photo of a player who once played in that bowl who was in a preseason camp with the Tampa Bay Bucs for an entire week before getting cut. That is the bowl's entire claim to fame and they want you to know about it.

the top teams are always the top teams and usually stay around for 10-15 yrs.. the flipside is that the margin from being in the 2nd tier to just an avg team is not all that great. cinci was a nice team who played hard and got to the final 4. the leap from a 5-7 team to a team in the top 10 is not really that big and when the go to 12 teams anyone can get there in a given year.. winning it would be the big leap.

Dick, here's a young Aunt Bea(Frances Bavier) when she was a new girl hollywood hottie. She sure could sell some sweet tea and lemonade.

Cousfucious say: Fans of teams that are irrelevant are not usually interested in teams that are playing for championships.
I watched with more interest when Clemson was in - because we have history and games between us. I know their players.

Alabama just churns out the same players, different names. Irrelevant to my fandom. The SEC has regionalized the sport through cheating and aggressive posturing.

The sport is at it’s best when there’s more parity. That’s a fact.

Play for Pay is coming and everything will sort itself out. The schools will be in the NCAA for football, both basketballs, and baseball/softball, and the Bamas, Georgias, and Ohio States will have their own league.

None of the other conferences ever cheated. Cousfucius say: That's whacked.
