I can't see 9-9 getting it done

If we went 9-9, I think we would have to win at least one, and maybe even two in the ACCT to feel safe.

What does this even mean? There are 68 spots. Two locks in SMU and Louisville wont be in the tournament. Apparently, people think we play in a vacuum where only our games matter than there aren't 30 other teams fighting for a spot in the tournament.

Granted we had lots of chances, but there will be at least 3 (Duke, ND, A&M, likely 4 (UCONN), and possibly 7 (St. Bon and FSU * 2) wins against fellow at-large tourney teams. I'd rather break a tie by asking "which team has shown it could win 2-3 games in the tourney" than asking "which team has shown us they won't throw up a stinker."
That said, going 1-2 down the stretch would put us in the national spotlight on Selection Weekend, whereas 10-8 is a slam dunk.

I unfortunately agree, assuming the last win doesn't come against North Carolina. I think if we somehow beat North Carolina at their place , 9-9 would be enough.

Where did I say anything about a vacuum? In my opinion if we lose another 2 games in a row...we all of a sudden have gone 1-4 for the past 5 games. According to all the bracket projections we got pushed back to a 10 seed and last 4 byes. An additional two losses and a quick exit in ACC Tournament wouldn't look to good. Obviously there are other teams that need to win as well but I cannot see the committee putting us in with a terrible finish.

I just looked this morning...Lunardi moved us to a 10 seed and last 4 byes. Palm has us at a 9. So you believe if we lose to NC state and UNC and lose to a Georgia tech in the tournament that we are good?

I'm not saying we would necessarily deserve being in at 9-9, but if other teams are worse than us then we would deserve to be in over them.
Pearl is correct when he says you can't look at our record in a vaccum. i guarantee a good amount of u would be p-d off iff we didn't get in at 9-9, but they took another major conference team at 8-10. That's basically what happened in 07 when Stanford got in over us with a worse record.

That means we would of beat Florda State twice, which would put us ahead of them on the bubble. How about we win that game against Georgia Tech and I'm 90 percent certain we'd get in.

If you look at my original post I said 9-9 wouldn't get it done unless we do something in ACC tournament. I will say if we beat UNC then I would change my opinion on the 9-9. I am assuming a loss there.

I think people are either forgetting or unconvinced that the selection committee will discount at least some of the losses under Hop. Assuming just one more win, this team is not the typical 9-9 team. We'd already have 10 conference wins if Boeheim didn't have the suspension.

We were 0-4 in the ACC some of you didn't think we would win 17 games. Guess what, you guys were wrong!!!

I'm so burned by the NCAA that we could win the ACCT and I'd still be nervous the NCAA would come up with some sham excuse to keep us out.

Lunardi is terrible. Your post stated "all the bracketologists..." Palm, for example has us still solidly in.
In your scenario of only winning the Fla St game and then losing to Ga Tech - it would be a toss-up but I wouldn't feel very good about our chances. I've maintained all along that 9-9 plus 1 ACCT win should be enough - but again, so much depends on other bubble teams and then bid-stealing conf. tourney teams

Don't forget either, this is potentially the weakest field in the history of the NCAA Tournament, literally. There will be multiple teams selected with losing conference records.
