Must be why the commentators did it as the play was happening? You know it’s an obvious one when that happens.Because blaming refs is the cheap and easy way out.

Excellent post. Also there were what five or six penalties called all day? They weren't calling anything. Did they miss the hold...for sure, but with six flags they most have missed and/or ignored other stuff too. Missed calls happen. The conspiracy of the world being out to get us is crazy.saying “we wuz robbed” is a time-honored tradition in sports. Every sport that has officials or refs and involves individual interpretation is a sport where those refs and officials are going to make bad calls. And fans are not going to be happy about it.
Syracuse-Notre Dame 1961 is why so many of us old timers have always rooted against ND…well, one of many reasons anyway. On the other hand, we tend to forget the ones that go our way, like the extra point that was actually no good against Toledo in OT ten years ago. We also selectively become blind when it comes to things that weren’t called against us. Just say the name “Marvin Graves” to a WVU fan if you re looking for a fun reaction.
Does it suck? Of course it does, but it comes with the territory in a sport where players, coaches, and yes, refs are imperfect. There are evaluations and sometimes consequences even if they are not apparent to fans. Beyond that, unless every play is going to have a video replay then sometimes mistakes will be made and sometimes we are going to get screwed. You and I may not be happy about it but it is the nature of the beast.

A couple major blown calls (that all go the other way) on huge plays in a 3 point loss...I think you can call them out on it but you can’t blame the refs for every loss which is what happens a lot here.
Instead of taking a look at the team and mistakes that the team made along the way too.
You can’t blame it all on the refs
So?We as a team left a lot of points out there on the table that if we had, wouldn’t have made a difference on that obvious hold had we gotten those points
So?
Refs shouldn’t be blowing the calls they blew. It cost us. Roughing the passer penalty and missed holding call were just unbelievable. And they cost us.

We’re not on the team. We’re fans. We don’t have to “control what we can control”.
The team not playing a perfect game doesn’t mean we can’t point out that every major and obvious blown call crushed us.
Yeah.So?

It's not when they clearly influence the outcome of a close game.I always thought blaming refs Is a loser’s mentality; but it is harder to keep thinking that way.
We need to fo to tear away jerseys. What does it say when a guy gets a sack and the olineman is standing there with a jersey in his hands?
This is absolute garbage.

It’s so absurd , the Olineman puts his hands in the air. Giving it away.
This is absolute garbage.
Thank you for being, as usual, the voice of reason.saying “we wuz robbed” is a time-honored tradition in sports. LOL...if thinking coherently before posting was a prerequisite, the game thread would be about 4 pages long...at least I hope you aren't thinking before you are posting.
Every game sure. This was pretty egregious. I think the refs won us the Akron game years ago clearly. I don’t think each penalty matters but when poor calls extend drives, take away points, or allow a team to get in field goal range to ice the game it is fair game. Hard to watch the end of that game and say the referees didn’t have a material impact on the outcome. Is what it is, but expecting people to ignore the impact is just as bad as the orange colored glassesevery sports fan views every game from their own biased perspective .
you'll seldom ever see a post on a team's message board about how the refs won us that game.
that's just human nature. and that's why i get tired of "blame the officiating" posts after every loss.
