All,

I'm not sure what to say here. I've been out sick the past two days and was dealing with it at the game Saturday. Very happy how the dance performance turned out, but everything else I always leave to you guys.

However I need help here.

The past two games one of our initiatives has been to pull a list of those who bought single game tickets off of ticketmaster and reach out to those patrons. I came up with an email to thank them for purchasing and supporting the program and so on. Everyone loved it and customer service is one of my core values here. Nothing more satisfying than helping fellow 'Cuse fans.

However my next plan here is to send out a thank you email to mini plan & season ticket holders. I know I speak for absolutely everyone in the department by saying thank you for supporting this team.

My point of this post is to get a jumpstart on that. Some of you may be getting an email from me in the upcoming weeks and know why I am doing it -- to thank you and hopefully improve your Dome experience.

So guys lay it on me. Aside from uniforms, coaching, players, etc -- how can I improve your experience. What would you do differently? What stays? What goes? I just want ideas. I want this to be a place you guys come to and truly love coming to over and over like it is for me 2 and a half years into it.

I appreciate the time and thoughts guys.

  • Get rid of the cheer where the cheerleaders go out on the field and try to get the side vs. side of the dome chant going. It has been an epic fail.
  • Keep the strobing video screens on third down that were utilized during the Duke game. That was awesome.
  • Big picture suggestion, get more orange in the actual stands, where the bleachers are. One reason stadiums always appear full is because of colored seating.

  • Games known that aren't going to reach capacity use the tarps like during basketball that say NY's College Team or whatever to block off certain sections (like upper level student section) or other light areas and focus people between the end zones or wherever.
  • Restructure some pricing in preferred areas.
  • Anything to get the students more involved.. I know it comes with winning.
All in all I thought we had good turnouts this year so good job! I hope we can improve on that next year even with this years poor performance. Whatever you did for the Nova opener, do it again it worked.

Thank you for all your efforts. Also, could there be more replays? I think an effort has been made to include more but it's disheartening to have people sitting on their couches having more info and better knowledge from tv replays of what's happening than season ticket holders sitting in the stands.

I have a few ideas with students but it's all a lot of moving parts. They are a tough grab at every college. You'll have a % that will never come no matter what, a % that will always come no matter what, and a % that can be swayed to one side or the other. The key is enhancing their experience which I am trying to play on.

As far as replays go - Cheriehoop - you've got a point. I think we made major improvements in year two of the screens and I'm sure we will play more with them in basketball and more so again in 2015

Pre-game tours of IPF - and possibly Melo Center.
Facilitate game day charter buses from upstate cities
Trolleys running up the hill
Free tickets and jerseys with their name on it - to former players - who would be open to interacting with fans. Disperse throughout the Dome.

Change 3rd down music to the Halloween movie theme song... Way more intense than the usual hells bell

1. Don't make season ticket holders jump through hoops when trying to purchase youth seats for individual games(basically told my only option was in-person at the box office, i used a scalper instead)

2. Try not to schedule games on Yom Kippur that kill the quad.

3. Bring back port-a-john fluff like flowers, carpets, pictures, etc.

4. Find alternative grassy area at skytop for track-induced tailgating evictions

5. Don't make season ticket holders pick up their free gift in person

How about some info on the teams walk thru the quad. My son would like to see this and we get there fairly early but we have yet to see this. How about an orange motorcyle instead of a FSU crimson one. Match the intro hometown on the scoreboard to what the player actually says a good number of our players say one home town and the scoreboard shows something else. When you know a game isn't going to sell out offer the troops up at Fort Drum free tickets. I would rather see a cheering, beer drinking soilder in the dome instead of an empty seat.

The Quad walk was a Grob thing and died with Marrone I think.

They did paint it. It was Orange for the Duke intro to Otto, though even if you were there I can see how you may have missed it in the chaos of the pregame on Saturday.

I dont know a single fan that hasnt wanted the bleachers to be colored Orange. Make it happen!
Stop calling the fan that wins the $25 Colemans gift certificate the " luckiest fan in The Dome". That place has had 3 health code violations in the past 2 months. :)

Really like the game day charters and trolley ideas. Trolleys from the parking lots (garages), Phoebe's, Marshall Street etc right to the quad would help the experience for game day (especially older fans and those that bring kids).

Seriously?????

Are you questioning the fact that they still do this? The players are still doing this..they just arent making it a fan thing.

Let me add that when we make bowl games, basketball regionals, etc., and the University puts together a fan package, let's try to make it a bit more realistic with the pricing. I get it that you guys want to maximize revenues for the program, but too often a fan can put together a much more affordable package with better seats (by far!) doing it themselves instead of doing it through the University.

While I'm at it - better food options. The barely-cooked hotdogs are disgusting, and can't we do better than chips and cheese "nachos"?

On the parking, shuttle bus front - that's a key. I used to love the train up from Armory Square. Some pubs and restaurants are supposedly trying to charter rides up the hill for games, but I never ever see them. How about shuttle buses from major suburban malls, like they do for the State Fair?

Stop telling the freshmen at Home to the Dome to jingle their keys on 3rd down.
I want someone to dress up like The Dome Ranger again and run around The student section to slap any kid that jingles keys instead of yelling. Grab the keys to their BMW and chuck them as far as possible. Basically have him do the Dikembe Mutumbo finger and then slap their keys out of their hands...
