showed as much class as Fournette did.

I get that he wanted to beat him and I get that he is defending his job, and I get that he wants to instill confidence in his kids after this game, so that some lasting good comes from it.

But Floyd Little had the right attitude, telling the young man "I'll see you at the Heisman ceremony."

I missed it, what did he do?

The whole thing about Fournette "I wanted to kick his ass." Said it a couple times, swore another handful of times. You're on TV and you're the head coach. You're not still in the locker room. This is year 3, and he was coordinator for four years under Marrone. He should know better by now.

Doesn't sound like that big of a deal.

I qualify that by acknowledging that I didn't see the post-game press conference.

Eh, that's not bad. I like the fire. It's not like he went out there and said "We made him look better than he is" or something equally stupid.

I wanted us to kick his ass too, no need to hide that from the media.

Was this in the post game press conference? You are playing against the best player in the country, I think it was just the competitor in him talking.

Yeah, but this kid is like "Ernie Davis" level of nice and classy. So complimentary of our history as a program, such a class act. I felt embarrassed by the comparison in tone, to be honest.

He is a very classy young man, but he won the game, had he lost, he would have probably been pretty ticked off.

Tone is difficult to interpret from sound bytes / quotes.

From the post game articles, it didn't sound anything but complimentary toward Fournette, to be honest.

This^^^
HCSS knows we had a legit chance to win the game. I'd rather have an ultra competitive leader who expects to win & shows passion, than some "Mr Happy Coach" like GERG who never seemed bothered by a loss.
Fournette deserves a lot of respect & is a welcome class act in CFB, but...I still wanted to kick his ass.

I like that he said that.

God forbid he ignores the PC crap for 2 seconds.

Wow, loved the presser and Shafer's fire. Nothing at all wrong with what he said, absolutely nothing.

God forbid someone speaks their mind for a change without tiptoeing around some overly sensitive people's feelings.

Since when is "ass" a swear word and beyond that how did he swear?

Now you are just nit-picking and trying to find things to complain about. I watched the presser and I see nothing wrong with what he said.

I'd prefer if Shafer could make it through press conference without his patented brand of coach speak and Yosemite Sam-isms. He sounds like a turd. But I dont think he was being, or even trying to be disrespectful. Everyone saw that Fournette was two levels above Syracuse and a level above even LSU's most talented guys. Shafer didnt have to go up there and perform a sonnet to him.

Also, i think it was right that he was unsatisfied. I really liked the effort today, but there isnt a team left on the schedule that SU is noticeably better than. Every game they will have to scrap and claw. Shafer acting like "we didnt do enough" was probably somewhat calculated measure to keep the team in grind mode.

Did you miss the ass-kissing all week? He compared him to every great RB in existence.

He gets fired up on game days. We're going to have to excuse it and move on.

He sounds like someone who loves his team, loves his job and loves his adopted community and he speaks the way he speaks. Haven't you figured it out yet that this is who he is and it isn't changing. Don't watch the pressers if you don't like it, pretty simple.

I enjoy the pressers and love how he speaks.

I guess that is why there is chocolate and vanilla, chocolate guy myself, you won't catch me eating or buying vanilla ice cream. Kind of like you watching a presser you know you won't like...he's been here 3 years.

I'm fine with what he said. On the other hand, if you want people to think SU football is classy, you wouldn't want to make your case by playing an HCSS press conference video.

Watch the presser in its entirety.

Football itself is not classy. Have you watched any other coaches pressers at all this year? Or any other year?
