He is just taking quotes and soundbites from espn... that's about as useful as reading a Syracuse.com article.Watch the presser in its entirety.

Apparently you didnt see him tell Dabo to -OFF during the game. That is EXACTLY how he talks on the sideline, and ive talked to him personally several times and he talks that way in person. Keep worrying about it though...im sure it makes you feel better about yourself.Good for you. I think he sounds like a turd. And I am not really talking about this presser. In general, he could make the same statements and express the same sentiments without the "hells," "god damns," "dang its," etc. I suspect that is not how he speaks during practice, film review, sidelines during games, with his family, etc.
I would stop replying to these comments on this thread at this point...you sound more and more like the " sit down and be quiet" people at the fball and bball games in The Dome with every single response.I only saw a clip of about 15 seconds, not the whole thing. In that 15 seconds, he must have sworn 5 times and twice said he wanted to kick the kid's ass. Yes, I know he was fired up. I said all of those things in my original post. I just think the contrast with how Fournette spoke of us was not flattering to Shaffer. I really like him, but sometimes I cringe at how often he swears on TV. It is a university, after all.
Im sure there are plenty of KIDS watching post-game press conferences...dude..just stop#1 - JB has been coach for 40 years. I can think of one time he swore in a press conference - when Gerry was called Overrated. That's the only time I can remember. Is JB any less passionate than Shaffer as coach?
#2 - People have posted on the board in the last 24 hours about being embarrassed at the foul mouthed fans around them at the game, swearing without regard to kids sitting nearby. This is family entertainment, after all.
#3 - I get that he was fired up. I get that he was trying to pump up the kids, to make this more than a moral victory.
But in comparison to Fournette, which was my original point, Shaffer came off as less classy than the kid who called us the original Running Back U, paid tribute to the great 44s, etc. I pointed out the contrast. If you don't like it, fine. I find Shaffer's lack of control in media situations to be a little embarrassing. It's not like this is the first time he has shot his mouth off inappropriately at press conferences. He needs better control of himself.

Shafer isn't reading the kids tweets. He acknowledges in the presser he had no idea the Fournette was interested in Syracuse history. He was also uber complimentary of Fournette in the presser. And personally I appreciate my head coach saying we wanted to kick his ass and hope to knock him out of the heisman race.
