If the ACC, the SEC and the Big 12 play, what are they playing for?
A playoff with just teams from those conferences is not a 'national championship'.
Steve Spurrier just called into a radio program and said that the ACC and SEC should just play their seasons and the winners play for the national championship. Someone from those 2 conferences was going to win it anyway. If the ACC, the SEC and the Big 12 play, what are they playing for?

Can you imagine the football recruiting trail if the ACC, SEC, and Big XII play this season and the Big Ten does not? It will be like SMU with the death penalty for the Big Ten. All of their talent will transfer and good luck with any high school recruits. Then after the season the conference needs to go to the SEC and say you stopped our 3-5-5 division less plan years ago.
You didn’t like it and with the Big Ten voted it down.
You owe us the support of this measure since we stuck by you and played football in a pandemic.
If the ACC isn’t trying to leverage changes they want now they won’t get them.
The SEC giving it their blessing along with the Big XII which co-sponsored the amendment with the ACC would have the votes so that divisions wouldn’t be necessary to determine confidence championship games every season.
The NCAA gave the ACC the waiver this year because of the pandemic.
However if we stupidly play use the situation to it’s advantage.
The College Football Playoff is Clemson, the SEC and two sacrificial lambs - Ohio State and Oklahoma. If the ACC, the SEC and the Big 12 play, what are they playing for?

it could go the other way as some parents will steer there kids to what they feel was the smarter choice regarding playing , and they would have more time to recruit. Plus say they play 6 games and get shut down then the season counts and kids lose eligibility and no chance for bowls or playoffs while others have the eligibility.. still I wanna give it a go as spring or next fall isn’t guaranteedCan you imagine the football recruiting trail if the ACC, SEC, and Big XII play this season and the Big Ten does not? IF the SEC/ACC play... it will absolutely hurt PSU, Michigan and OSU in recruiting. Those top recruits they manage to pull out of the South are going to stay in the South. If teams are able to play the full season and we don't end up with lots of sick kids (and that's not a small 'if'), maybe ACC/SEC/BigXII teams gain some short-term advantage but Penn State, Michigan, etc are always going to get elite recruits.
we will cross the playoff question once we get thru the seasonIf the ACC, the SEC and the Big 12 play, what are they playing for?

Could be coincidental, but OSU just lost a 4/5 star player today - Decommitted, likely headed to Florida.

Could you name some more things that, once their holes are removed, become other things?A flute with no holes is not a flute. A donut with no hole, is a Danish.
The winner of a baseball league with 29 teams in the US and one in Toronto wins the 'world' series.
I think the players will be ok with whatever we call their victory.
Right now it’s basically Acc , sec , big 12the ACC and Syracuse, need to drop the 11th game.
get rid of Liberty.
revisit with the SEC, make the 11th game a crossover.
put them all in late December, fill the bowl void.
provided things go according to plan, there should still be a F4.
if the bevo drops out, then just take the top 2 from each league.
love that movie...watched it 100 times when I was a pre-teen/teenagerSU, I don't want you to go play football this year
