Marrone did a great job at stopping the bleeding. Let's not make it moire than it was. Half way through his last year, the board had plenty of people calling for his head. Marrone doesn't win with this schedule and these qb's.Ya you're right it was much harder recruiting here then he thought. He took over after winning a total of 3 games the 2 seasons before. What recruits would willingly sign up for that? Let's also forget to mention that when he took over we had bottom 5 facilities as far as P5 programs. Facilities didn't improve until the Manley renovations that were completed in 2012, and still then they weren't that great. It's actually pretty amazing he did as good as he did. Those first 2 classes he had to fight for every single kid. We were a program in the gutter. Sure Marrone may not have liked recruiting, but that doesn't mean he wasn't good at it. He had a plan. He implemented it, and it was starting to show fruition when he left. That 2012 class that he had was shaping up to be very very good. The class before that produced a ton of contributors as well. All that was done with absolutely nothing. I would love to see how he would be doing right now with real facilities, and before this season a winning program. It would have been just as good, if not better then what we are doing now.
