If this new offense can't convince 50K to show up for Clemson, I give up on the city of Syracuse

How dare you ask Syracuse fans to support Syracuse for better or for worse. Don't you know there are leaves to rake?
You can rant against that reality all you want but that is the reality. Syracuse will support a winner. This is not the South or the Midwest. Rochester is a Bill's town. Albany is a Giant's town. We are not old State U that everybody roots for.
The best and only solution is to win, and to win well

People said many times on here...have an exciting offense and people will come. Well?
After more than a decade of bad offense I think it takes more than one season of good offense, a hiccup, and two good games of offense to turn that ship around.

fwiw... there has been a potential big doner in attendance.

the guy's net worth is to be a few hundred million and a local high school grad that I played ball with.

so is this just going to be one of those posts that peak our interests, but can't reveal more of? Can you at least tell me if I should stop hitting refresh?

I just think that it's not right to put his name out there, when the time comes it will be known

I've watched that game probably five time and it stings every time, but those Tennessee fans were many and very loud.

Me too - that is one of the many SU home losses in the 90s that I still have Post Traumatic Stress Disorder over. Obviously the pass interference call is the most memorable, but the play that just burns my soul is when we had Tennessee 3rd and long on a late critical drive and Tee Martin scampered for about 50 yards, and then David Byrd (I believe) hit him out of bounds to tack on another 15.

Urban legend. 6k ish

I'm not one for hyperbole, and I would estimate that there were about 15K PSU fans in the Dome for the 2008 game. Literally one entire side of the upper deck was blue and white. The Dome got LOUD when they scored.

Phil Nash, pretty sure. Dumb play for a senior; too many undisciplined penalties in that era.

between posts like that, and the absolutely ridiculous comments that get posted under the syracuse football facebook account i've come to the conclusion that there are just as many people that enjoy us losing as opposed to winning. We are easily the least football savvy fan base in the country. i realize other fan bases b!tch and moan as well, but at least they attend the games, and at least they know what the hell they are talking about.

I know a lot of people here in Syracuse that don't like SU football, and really do enjoy us losing (cant for the life of me find out why). A NDfan, some UF fans(3 off the top of my head), a lot more people don't even care.
