but I don't think that dungey is what the staff wants at QB. I think that they have to try to make it happen, because Dungey is the best option at QB, so they are totally changing what they want to do based on the QB. regardless of the numbers, dungey is an option quarterback being shoehorned into a read/react passing offense. I don't think we will know what babers offense is until we see DeVito.

The staff didn’t recruit Dungey.

But I will guess they are mighty glad to have him right now while a lot of other things get into place.

When one has to be the starting QB and RB, it’s tough.

He did throw for 385 yards.

Have to believe the coaches like that kind of production in the air.

I can't tell where to lay the blame for the slow starts on offense but Dungy was intercepted on his first pass of the game in the last two games. Glad he can run, that adds a lot. Also know it is not all him -- o line an running game and receivers and tough opponents all contribute

Last game LSU scouted the offense and predicted the first play and jumped it. That's on Babers for being too predictable. Today Dungey throw it to the inside shoulder instead of the outside shoulder, the receiver probably should have fought harder for the ball and the db made a stellar play, blame goes to 60% the db, 30% Dungey and 10% the receiver. The reality of our slow starts is that we are way too predictable on O and good defenses will give us what we want knowing we will shoot ourselves in the foot. Root cause is the lack of a run game to take an pressure off of the receivers.

Ultimately, I agree, but I can guarantee they can't be happy enough that Dungey is here to ease the transition. I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I think this offense would run much better with a pure pocket passer like Devito, but that doesn't mean Dungey isn't the best option right now, and the perfect player to help transition from the last offense to our current one.

The backup syndrome.

I would not be shocked if going into next year the QB job is open and if Devito is the better player in the summer if he is the starter and Dungey spends his final year as the #2. That would not shock me in the least

Ain't happening.

The most popular player on a losing team is the backup QB.

I disagree with most things said im this thread. I'm pumped for Devito and would love to see what Grossman offers...but Dungey is no slouch. Guy hasnt come close to losing us a game.

Find another scapegoat.

so they scouted a play we never run?

Chances of that happening are less than slim and none. Try none and none.
