Woodsen could do well but the odds are stacked against him. It was very smart of him to hire Thad Matta as an assistant. It’ll be interesting to see how all these hires of former NBA players and coaches plays out. It’s now the trend after Juwan Howard had such a successful debut season at Michigan. But Ewing and Stackhouse have struggled to get things going at Gtown and Vandy. Avery Johnson didn’t work out at Alabama, Chris Mullin flamed out at St John’s, Dunleavy failed at Tulane, Sidney Lowe was a total disaster at NC State from 2007-11. And lots of other examples.
