Indoor Facility Update

I heard 17m given by the BOT, so that's seems high if its just a pole barn with lights.

So which is it? Is it going to be the all encompassing facility a few here said or the practice field only facility that OPA mentions? Huge difference in cost.

Different schools have different policies. Some schools will take you off the call list if you haven't donated in say 5 years.

Which is odd because he's been a season ticket-holder for close to 15-20 years

Put me down for $1M...um, that's $100 bucks, right?

Already being worked...I'm hoping to get link set up for all of use to donate to the fund and receive individual credit as well as group credit to the board. The idea is to collectively get a naming rights representing our sports forum here for something: so far I haven't heard back with an answer. IMHO they liked the idea but I think they are very busy and it will be done eventually. If the release is next week...they better have something within a week or two.

Finally! The SyracuseFan.com Pee Troughs!

Could be viewed as different than donating though I suppose. I have season tix, but I don't get calls asking for donations (although I'm not an alum).

There were multiple designs and multiple locations being considered so at least that info didn't leak yet as to which design & location was finally chosen - the most important part in all the designs was having a full sized field - I can't wait to see it all unfold next week. This is really exciting - especially the commitment to football.

I donated $1k over 4 years to the Melo center - I got my first $250 installment ready - Go Orange!

Is Bernheimer definitely the architect? (is it possible that all those renderings are just a proposal?)

Also, I either missed this the first time I looked, or this site has added diagrams.

But, anyway, you can see what's planned inside. Prep area. Coaches offices. Storage. Another larger storage. Women's locker. Men's locker. Men's and women's bathrooms. Concessions. A/V and Elec.

Nothing about medical or weights areas, etc.

There's even a diagram for tree areas.

This, too. Heh.

The Swiss Cheese Center.

I don't think the 120 yards is a huge deal. Great that they are doing it but many aren't full field. I'm just surprised by OPA post. I was convinced by others here that it was going to be everything the team would need. Weight room, lounge, medical, etc. I bet if they just do the field and a couple offices and lockers it tales the all pay from the original rumor of $20m to closer to $10m. I like this plan better. Everything we already have is fine regardless of the whining some do. Even Shafer said so the other day.

Women's bathrooms maybe? Don't they have to have them by law or some such thing?

Edit: Nope it clearly says lockers. Are we getting women's football team ?

Just reporting it!

Are they really going to put it in the spot adjacent to Coyne as the diagrams suggest or right where Coyne is? Would make sense to put it closer wouldn't it so it could be connected to where the locker rooms are and the rest of the facilities.

Potty parity.

Building Code requires both sexes have facilities. Not sure if there are exceptions for places such as this but I would imagine not.

I figured as much.

Damn I was hoping for women's football, lingerie league style.

A bathroom yes. A lockeroom no.

Could it be that cheerleaders and/or dance team might practice there as well as the band?

If its just having them for PC reason's the "womens" locker room will likely be identical but minus the urinals and used by the football team regardless.

Chakka said nobody else will use it.

I wouldn't call people that disagree with your thoughts on this "whining." We definitely need to upgrade the medical facilities ASAP as well.
