Is anyone confident we can have a winning team under Red next year?

Choppa averaged 13 a game from late Nov through the MD game right before Christmas. He hasn't scored in the 6 games since. That's utter insanity. Why is Red not trying to build him back up, working to get him some easy looks (hahaha) or just playing him for the future? He was fun and energetic like you inferred, but now he's out there thinking and barely playing. It's coaching ineptitude.

McLeod getting 4 minutes would be 4 too many. There's nothing there.
A wild idea would be to create some sets for Moore and actually run a systematic set that takes over thinking out of the equation. Run here, cut here, curl off screen here and bang a three. Don’t think just do. It would be nice to see something like that.

This isn't Syracuse.
I've said it before; IMO- a team is defined by their effort and hustle, especially on defense. When the crowd cheers for just 60 seconds of effort shown, what does that tell you about what they're used to seeing w/ this team?
Red won games last year, sure- but even Stevie Wonder could see the disturbing trendline...the mouthing off to coaches, the "hero ball", the "get-mine no matter what" attitude that permeated the team. Sure, you can blame the players but they are relatively young, immature, testosterone-addled, know-it-all numbskulls, who not unexpectedly act like idiots sometimes.
Where is the line in the sand? Where is the discipline? Why keep going back to the Carlos well, hoping that this time...just this once, things will be better. It's on Red to adopt a "damn-the-torpedoes" attitude and start sitting those who don't wanna compete. Either you give effort, or you ride the pine. At this point it needs to be asked; "Is he even capable of doing that"?

2 things that were missed this year that helped last year- JB being around the program and Gerry always shooting with Bell. Clearly those 2 things worked well and are missing this season

Not provable. I get that people are perplexed by Bell, but he's never been a complete player. Just a shooter. If he made just 4 more threes this season, he'd be shooting 35% from three and people would be clamoring to get him more shots. But he's still a net negative everywhere else on the floor. People are dreaming on what he could be, not who he is.

What he is, is the entirety of The Chris Bell Experience™.

Im not suggesting these didn’t help….but I’m having a hard time understanding this. All we were told (and we have the receipts) were that the team behind the scenes was a disaster and the players were all bad seeds.

25 minutes last night. But no rebounds, no assists, no steals. He wouldn't be getting that many minutes on pretty much any other team. Hopefully our analytics guys make some improvements next season.

Here is what probably helped Chris more so than Gerry: better players, especially at PG.

Judah's PER was 20.5. JC's is 8.4. BPM is 4.2 to -2.3.

On top of other better players.

You trade just JC for Judah and I'm guessing Chris Bell has made more than just four of those missed threes.

This isn't GMac or JB. This is just talent on the court.

Personally, I think Bell spent too much time in the weight room and it hurt his shot.

Just embrace it.

In order for me to get there I would have to see Autry fire all his assistants, clean house completely with this roster. That includes JJ and Freeman. The core is rotten.

Literally the only player I think can develop to what we need is Petar in 3-4 years. Next years portal and hires would have to be home runs and a completely new identity. Even then it's a maybe.

If he decides to run it back again with this same garbage and core it's over before it even starts. I dont' have patience to sweat out the non-con cupcakes and chase the bubble all next season.

With the right players, maybe.

Need some alphas on D.

Arinze Onuaku types inside
Eric Devendorf types outside
Jason Hart's manning the point
Then your 6'7 slashers.

We have too many projects & crippled & 1-sided players.

There's still people denying it.
I’d say it’s less denying and more goalpost moving.

Just before the season started folks said we were on our way to a tournament bid with this roster.

Now it’s all about our paltry NIL budget torpedoing the season.

Something to add on- the Dan E hire - his former team is 11-5 to start the year so far… he oversaw mostly losing seasons except the one Covid year they went 12-11 and made the tourney…

Fans will be blamed soon. Wait for it.
