If you are saying JF, SwErve, Salt Badger, Ish and Lewis are our best 5 skill players on Offense, I agree. I also wish this was our most popular package. Anyone worried about Lewis not being able to block anyone should remember if you line him up 15 yards from the LOS, he still takes his guy out of the way of the RB.

No, you're right. I'm saying spread the field, make the defense go cover 4 guys split wide and then see how Fredericks handles running against 5 or 6 in the box. If teams want to still commit 7 to the run, then the outside guys should do damage.

You can still run play-action and misdirections. You can still run the ball. You can still call one guy the Hybrid Back. You can still motion guys into the backfield. You can do a lot of things and you don't need a TE on the field all the time.

Or people can look for the defense to win games as we get into the better ACC teams and see how that works.

That works better when you have an experienced QB and a better line. Asking for pressure.

I wish we had that as an option though. I think we just send the TE out into coverage.

We didn't lose the last two games because of the offense running the option too much. I do agree that running the option to the short side of the field one time, is one time too many. The only benefit I can see to running it to the short side is to set up a throw-back pass. When was the last time that worked for us?
