It's becoming Increasingly Clear

I really don't care what you think, I am a pissed off fan sick of having a less than mediocre program that fumbles around like they are in the dark looking for a cheap way to catch lightening in a bottle.

I also have been on this board a lot longer than you and we shall see what happens with Babers in 2-3 years.
[
[Psst---"lightening" is what you do to your hair. "Lightning" is that jagged bolt of electricity in the sky. So if you were discussing going blond, you got it right.]

I think, from his posts, he's already gone blonde.

This is terribly shallow of me, but near the top of the many reasons I severely dislike the term Cuse if because it often used by Syracuse newbies.

And on this forum, just about anyone who uses Cuse in their name is either a troll, about 13 years old or a certified lunatic that thinks college athletics at SU are a zero-sum proposition.
OburgCuse ?

I don't think 5 months should be considered "a lot longer". What could that lengthy 5 month difference in your stays on this board possibly have to do with anything? Seriously, what does this even mean?
I was judging by how much he/she posted, didn't realize there was an actual date stamp on the accounts.

Yep, I spelled it wrong, good job and I know the difference.

here’s what I think. Facts don’t lie. We played exceptional vs duke and took them out behind the woodshed. You had like 2 posts. Both negative. Not a single POSITIVE post about anything in the game. We lose to lville and you’re over 50 posts. All negative. You get off on su losing.
I don't get off on SU losing, I desperately want them to win but it isn't something I can change unfortunately. I get extremely agitated when they lose, can't stand it.

Minnesota is a State school with an enrollment of 48,000 and an endowment of almost $3.8 Billion. The metro population of Mpls/StPaul is over 3.6 million.

SU has an enrollment 1/2 as large (almost 23,000), an endowment only 1/3 as large ($1.3 Billion), and a metro population 1/6 as large (660,000).

As far as private schools go ... Stanford has an endowment of $26 Billion. Notre Dame has $13.8 Billion. Duke has $8.5 Billion.

You really think it's that simple?
Minnesota also only charges $14K a year for tuition, SU tuition is over 4x that.

you don’t know how college sports work. Schools don’t pay for athletic facilities. Donors do. Go find me one where the school paid for it.
I know how it works, you tell me that every time I complain about this subject. That is a policy that has to change at SU because clearly it isn't working unless of course you care more about profitability than winning.

Did someone donate $118 mil to replace the roof on the Dome? I don't recall that donation, did you finally donate the Bees fortune? Or did the university take out loans?

I always thought it was kind of a hybrid state and private in some way.
You're right. The state doesn't own it (like they do PSU), but it is publicly funded. My bad.

Wasn't that proposed to SU quite a few years ago, that type of structure?

I seem to recall that involving a medical school or some sort of merger...

you sure don’t celebrate their victories.

the policy is the same as everyplace for funding athletic facilities. Specific to the dome improvements, some will be donated, some borrowed and some from SU. They are trying to get the most donated they can of course. Sometimes facility work at SU ends up being 100% donated. The Dome is part of the university’s $250m campus west upgrade. They have been raising funds for it and continue to do so. You can put your money wheee your mouth is and donate online or by phone. Just make sure to donate your money to the Cuse athletics opportunity fund or if calling specify the dome project.

Yep...and when fans don't think we can win, what do you think players think??

So do we win when fans thought we were maybe a top 10 team this year.

Ah, so it isn't ALL 100% donated as you suggested. I thought not.
So they took out loans against the Dome renovations...which means they can do it for other projects and still try to get donations in the meantime to pay for it.

So there is your facility example that wasn't 100% built with donations.

Not this year we don't. Fans knew pretty early how bad we were but still kept hoping we would turn it around, just didnt happen.

nice twist. I said go find me one where the school paid for it. Did you do that? In the end, most of not all will come from donations. But what you have been crying for, which never happens anyplace, is for the school to snap it’s fingers and just build new facilities.

For many the joy of winning is enough. We don’t need to post about it. Losing breeds frustration and it’s not so crazy to think that posting helps some of us to channel that frustration. If it’s that big of an issue to some mods then we all can use the ignore option. Or I strongly encourage the adoption of a required positive-to-negative ratio of posts. Then add this ratio/quota to the board rules so that moderator bias is taken out of the equation.

I certainly do, maybe I take it too seriously.

Maybe I am too emotionally invested, you would think that the university wants emotional ownership from it's fans especially non alums.

Maybe they don't, I know that if I owned such a big business I would want that and have fans spend their dollars on my product.

It usually takes me about a day to calm down from a loss, unless of course we get embarrassed like we have done a few times this season.

we don’t need bias. We can count. And yea, your ratio is ridiculous too.

Really, not on this board.

I think we should all get a graph of post numbers throughout the season. It's not fair that admins can see and we can't, after all we are the ones posting.

I would call being trounced by Maryland in game 2 pretty early on. Most folks knew we weren't who we thought we were after that game.

no they didn’t. Read the board after the MD game. I’ve read a bunch of your posts. Done responding to you. You’re just throwing crap out there then backtracking the whole time.
