It's becoming Increasingly Clear

I think we should all get a graph of post numbers throughout the season. It's not fair that admins can see and we can't, after all we are the ones posting.
What are you talking about? Everyone's post numbers are right there under their handle.

that you can't field a top notch D1 Football team on a private school budget.

I seriously feel like I am being duped into spending money on tickets to watch this team play.

What was the last private school that was able to play for the playoff or national championship?
Notre Dame 2012 and before that Miami in 2001, things have changed since then.

Can't even be competitive on a shoestring budget unless you want a 10 win season every 15-20 years.

Sad.

I’ll take a bunch of 10-3 seasons and roll the dice from there.

no they didn’t. Read the board after the MD game. I’ve read a bunch of your posts. Done responding to you. You’re just throwing crap out there then backtracking the whole time.
So you didn't think that there was a problem after MD trounced us...you should go back and look at posts from everyone after that game.

That's totals, Bees mentioned posts before and after wins and losses and the ratios of each.

Are those under our names or did I miss something?

This is terribly shallow of me, but near the top of the many reasons I severely dislike the term Cuse if because it often used by Syracuse newbies.

And on this forum, just about anyone who uses Cuse in their name is either a troll, about 13 years old or a certified lunatic that thinks college athletics at SU are a zero-sum proposition.
Ummm...yo 94...(awkward moment). I’m 50, successful professional, former military and war vet and for the most part haven’t been a lunatic since my early 30s though there was this one bachelor party we flew out to Vegas for that may have involved some lunacy not that long ago ...but that stays in Vegas. >; ) oh and go Cuse!

You almost nailed it...just replace "shallow" with stupid in your first sentence.

“Dino will be gone soon when he realizes the administration really doesn't care about being competitive over being profitable. At the expense of the fans.”

This is just Syracuse.com Joe from Nedrow type stuff. It makes no sense. The University has consistently tried to create a better environment for the fans. Yeah I get it, the parking is always changing but get over it

If the 40-50 mega-athletic departments go and form a new super division, Syracuse and many of the other next tier schools could choose to form a new division for themselves, where they would be on a more equal competitive footing.

We have a total of 7 in our history of over 130 years of football.

What about 7 of 130 gives you confidence that we can accumulate a "bunch" of 10 win seasons in your or my lifetime ?

I said that more as a joke but I meant in more of a data format. So in the weeks or 6 days leading up to a game I post 9 times but we get smoked on Saturday and I lose my marbles and post 63 times on gameday and 60 more on Sunday, that type of thing.

Thought it would be cool, I love data like that.

Syracuse is only 250 miles from Penn State, and they seem to find plenty of in-state talent.

Is PA football really that much more competitive that NY?
yes it is, and nj as well. it has more emphasis in these states as well as different practice rules.
you rarely see and empty high school stadium in small town pa and nj

I get your point, but for many years teams only played 10 games and a bowl game if they were lucky to be chosen for the 5 or 6 that existed then.

There are many teams that have been playing football just as long as Syracuse that have many more more 10 win seasons that SU does. They all played under the same rules through the same football era.

Here are 20 to start -
