Its time for Wildhack to step up

I assumed that's what you mean. But I'm guessing if ADJW stepped in and told him to replace a coach, it might have Dino looking for other employment options. View attachment 141289

Well that would definitely suck but were not talking about Nick Saban here. I like Dino a lot but 4-8 is 4-8 and this year is headed god knows where. If he cant see we have a problem I dont know if hes the right guy

Yeah but if the ad forces Babers to fire his dc do you think Babers will just take it? For better or for worse Babers is the only thing standing between this program and life support. If he can’t turn this thing around we are done. Forcing him to fire a coordinater would seem like crossing a line.

Sorry but that's ridiculous. I like Babers a lot but if he doesn't work out were not going D3, there's plenty of coaches out there that os a bad take.

No, he has a buy out that guarantees he'll be at Rutgers forever. But, that being said, there are plenty of coaches out there. Nobody, NOBODY is irreplaceable.

Yes...all the fans on this forum that know better than the coaches.

I dont know better but I know our run D isn't up to par it's clear as day. If you can't see that I dont know what to tell you.

Legit question.

Would Georgia Tech score a TD on every possession against us?

In the 4th quarter, absolutely. I call BS on our conditioning and lack of substitutions on the DL. They have been completely gassed in the 4th the last 2 games. Why ? Runners are getting to the second level on almost every play. If your LB's can't make tackles replace them. Houston, we have a problem.

I didn't say there weren't issues but it takes a few recruiting classes to get where you need to be at all positions. Some true freshman can play right away, others need that redshirt year. I don't think calling for coaches to be fired is the answer.

I dont necessarily disagree but Ward has struggled since day 1, the last two games are the last straw for me. Both Clemson and Pitt were beyond one demetianal and we got gashed like we were playing Alabama. I respect and like u as a poster but its clear to me that Ward is simply over his head. It's one thing to get run over by a top 5 Clemson team with Feaster but Pitt has been awful this year and that performance was abysmal. A change is needed, asap.

I personally blame the offense for the loss. I thought the defense got gashed at the end the game but they also came up with some big plays at times to keep things from getting out of hand. When we were down 10 it was just as much the defense that kept the game reachable, as the offense.

The offensive playcalling looked like we were calling Randy Edsall for suggestions. 3 runs right up the middle on your own 10, or wherever we were. Obviously the QB throwing the ball into the dirt on half the plays doesn't help but then put in a QB that is able to physically run the offense. I've been saying this for 2 years, there's been games the last 2 years we've lost because of 1980's playcalling IMO.

We shouldn't have lost this game, I've said all week, I feel good about where we are but I"m not laying cash on 8+ wins. I want to see us routinely beat teams we should. This is exactly why I'm going to continue to be wary of any big wins, close wins, good early season stats vs. weak teams. This is the part of the season we've fallen apart. If it happens again for a 3rd year, I'm not liking any of the extension threads EVER.

As weird as it sounds imo the defense played well enough to win. The offense needs to click better.

I actually don't put this on Ward. These guys have to make some plays. They are there for the tackles and either take an awful angle, missed a tackle, get swallowed up and can't shed the blocker, or make the tackle, but let the runner push them another 2-3 yards after contact. It's looking like we had some misses at LB and it's coming back to haunt us. Also, Kayton Samuels is missed. He was a good run stuffer.
Neither the offense nor defense played well enough today to win. This was a whole team loss.

I don’t like prevent and gutless three man rushes in the college game but they have to recruit better linebackers who have more size. Tryel Richards, Lakiem Williams and Trey Allison are the only 220lb + backers we’ve actually recruited in 3 years. Then Richards was moved to DEnd. Lakiem has unfortunately been hurt but got some run today.

Not sure why move Richards as he’s been in a lot on those 3 man rushes and I think dropping into coverage, they need to teach that kid to play backer.

If they don’t come up with a 4:3 package against these run heavy teams we’re dead but we knew that before the season started. So again it really comes back to recruiting.

Yup. They both had their moments.

But they also both had chances to do something to put us in great position to win and they failed.

Score a TD after the Custis “catch” gift and Pitt doesn’t have enough time to run the ball every play and comeback.

Stop them on 4th and 3, and the offense just needs one first down to win the game.

Keep them out of the end zone in OT and a TD wins it.

Drive 25 yards for a TD and keep the game going.

Neither unit got it done at all at the end.

Yep 372 yards isn’t enough. Didn’t reach 200 yards rushing or passing. We are supposed to win with offense. The defense has been average, which is what most people would have accepted and assumed we would win since the offense is supposed to carry the team.

SU didn't get run over by Clemson...If you want to see run over and flattened by Clemson you should watch the highlights of the Clemson Wake Forest game.

I thought defense played pretty well against Clemson and helped keep us in the game. They didn't take the lead until near the end of the game. That's a credit to the offense but especially the defense IMO.

Well we gave up 300 yds rushing despite Clemson being down to its 3rd string QB for most of the game, we have different definitions of being run over.

Ward is a B- coach. We can do better.

They are 2 plays away from being 6 - 0. Dino took over a 5 alarm dumpster fire with very little talent and an offensive and defensive system that couldn't be further opposite of what Shafer players were recruited for. He may not be Nick Saban, but he has done a hell of a job and it's clear as day things are headed in the right direction probably quicker than most could have expected. The fact that everyone is up in arms because we lost a game "we should have won" at Pitt should tell you all you need to know.

Right now our 4th year starting QB is struggling and probably having his worst year in the 4 years he has started and we have 0 LB's. We can't stop the run because of it. Other then that we are on an upward trajectory.

I’ll add I don’t know why Ward thought we’d be better off in a 4:2:5 to get Cordy on the field but it was a big mistake imo. Really should’ve rolled with the 3 best linebackers. Cordy was never that good that we had to have him on the field. Yes teams in this league like to sling it around but it’s a power league and always has been. These teams will chew you up on the ground if it presents itself.

So now Cordys hurt but it looks like Trill steps into the nickle and we’re not gonna change.

I don’t know what the answer is but I might roll with Richards/Williams in the middle to get more size there, Guthrie at one outside spot and Armstrong Whitner rotating at the other outside spot. The 2 LB experiment sb over if it were me.

I don’t trust Dungeys inconsistent throwing enough to think we can outscore everybody. At some point we have to make a few stops.

We're better off putting money into the recruiting budget and the Dome.

I’ll hold off until he has LB’s that are adequate. What can he do with adequate horses? We’ll see. We haven’t really had enough of them yet.

We all knew the LB’s might be suspect this year. When one unit is really getting taken advantage of, it’s tough.
