JB just on local radio...no word yet

I believe he has an incomplete in a course because the wrote the answers to the final exam in Portugese. It's also rumored that when he came to Florida his visa was invalid causing immigration to check its validity. He will be allowed to practice while a translator and immigration authorities check there respective issues.

After looking into traveling to Brasil for the next world cup, it became clear to me quickly that US immigration and customs have some stringent rules in place for brasilians trying to enter the country... and that brasil reciprocates with extra hurdles for US citizens trying to travel to Brasil... in other words, visa issues would not surprise me...

Kanter practiced all of last year with uk means nada imo

I think the dude who tried to transfer from St. Joe's to UAB but couldn't get his release was practicing also even though he was ineligible. Practicing doesn't always equal eligible.

The most plausible rationale I have read to date on the situation with Fab. That doesn't make it so but it at least seems to fit the set of circumstances we've been presented with.

I believe it's been said a few times, but Fab (as far as SU has said) is NOT ineligible. He is appealing something, and during that appeal he is not ineligible, but I assume being held out so the NCAA doesn't come sniffing around if he is later ruled ineligible.

Not calling you a liar here...but if you read the regs they are worded kind of the opposite of this...basically have to petition to allow participation.

I don't believe this is right. Fab Melo is ineligible to play, pending appeal. If he were eligible what the heck would he be appealing? Please explain because you lost me.

Yeah, I understand the NCAA regs to mean he cannot participate at all.

This was a serious post? I thought this was a joke/ sarcasm. ?????

It seems suitably bizarre.

Did he have the right answers in Portugese, or the wrong ones?

There is no way on earth this is true. One does not get to choose the language in which you answer exam questions.

Finally, someone with the facts.

LOL I can't believe that was a serious post.

It was not a serious post but this board is driving me nuts with all the questions, mystery and conjecture.

Like SWC alluded: It's a bizarre set of circumstances we find ourselves staring at and even though the explaination posited by the poster seems equally obtuse... It may be a case of Ocams razor and actually be the most plausable explaination to date!

I'm not stating facts. I have no sources. I haven't seen a report saying he had been ruled ineligible. There have been so many rumors on here that it's a little tough to determine what the deal is. We'll all find out together...

OK admins, if this is some clever attempt to get me to join a premium board, sign me up, take my credit card and checking account info and tell me where to send my firstborn.
