JB on ESPN2 talking Red

We should just ignore the Rev share because every school is going to do it. Jim isn't wrong we're bottom of the ACC when it comes to basketball NIL. That needs to change or we'll be having this same conversation in 3 years.
Supposedly, JB is not doing fundraising. Why not? This should be one of his main activities.

Well, I'm glad Jim is still OK with driving a wedge into the fanbase. Must be that golf background.

Boeheim said he still thinks Autry was the right choice, but circumstances negatively affected it. That disqualifies him for having a reasonable opinion for the next coach.
Yet it has been stated a million times here that JB wanted GMac, not Autry.

With an outsider AD will he keep JB around? I think useful life of keeping him around is wearing out. Especially if he’s truly not fundraising and bashing the players being recruited.

No way he believed it. He was feeling the heat after the daddy ball year and had to do PR spin because fans were ready to go at him with pitchforks.
Exactly. It was just to get the immediate heat off of him with no concern about what would happen when everyone found out it wasn't true. Children often do the same thing.

Yet it has been stated a million times that JAB CHOSE RED to be his AHC.

Not the AD.
Not the BOT.

IF he really wanted/preferred GMac, well, then he could have chosen him as AHC.

But he did not.

hes not a very pleasant person, and never had a pension for kissing ass so im not sure why that would change now thats hes even older and even less in the spotlight.

I’d imagine it’s hard to fundraise right now without a coach in place.

JB: Hey, give us a million dollars, nerd.

Nerd: Who’s coaching?

JB: Idk, just do it [gives em a noogie]

Keeping him around or not kinda doesn’t change anything. So maybe, maybe not; doesn’t really matter.

Eh, this doesn’t prove that he thought Autry was the better coach. Autry had seniority. If you want your staff to be cool with each other, it’s usually a good idea not to leapfrog the senior person (who was doing their job completely satisfactorily) with a junior person. That’s a good way to lose the senior person, which puts you in the spot of having one less person you know you can rely on and can massively screw things up.

Naturally, those concerns go out the window when senior leadership is replacing the dude in charge. That’s when you can leapfrog because the expectation is that staff under the leader would be shaken up anyway.
