JB on Orange Nation at 1PM

How soft are you?

Season 3 Nbc GIF by The Office

What did the reporter do that was offensive?
Check again the post I was responding to. If my point is still not clear it’s a waste of both our time to explain it further.
I don’t mean to be obtuse or snarky myself. For those who’ve been involved in HR or employment law my meaning is clear.

That disagreement was over your assertions in a game thread and getting upset paired with childishly tagging me in other threads. You didn't like being call out for that and acted out. It should have ended in the game thread but you wouldn't let it. Then went on that tantrum and posted pure garbage. So if it wasn't disagreement then you incorrectly assess a personal view of people on here. Trust me- a beer at the dome in person and you would realize how off you are. You've been around less than a year as well. Debate can get contentious but it's not personal.. if you honestly felt it was then I apologize... it never is. The nasty stuff has no business here though. We're all SU fans here first and foremost.

You manipulated facts to fit the narrative you wanted to spin in the game thread. I called you out for it and you refused to take ownership of that. It was petulant. You went in with the passive aggressiveness and calling me “lost”, among other things because you couldn’t handle being called out for your nonsense.

Then you pulled the same bullying responses on another poster in another thread. That’s when I decided to put it out in the open and let you know the way you were handling arguments with people was not okay.

You have no interest in seeing how you were wrong in any of it. I suspect that is bolstered by the likes you get and the people from this board who you know outside the board. I could be wrong. You seem to be emboldened by it.

Of course.. my biggest bone to pick as is others - he has waited too long. K and Roy knew things were going to be different and it's a whole new game. We are a bit behind as a result with JB. That does make getting back on track a harder task and will until he hangs them up.

Let's just hope that this new NCAA BS doesn't come after people like AW and create the same imbalances it had in the past when only a few schools could get away with it.
He has waited too long. That’s why I don’t think he earned the right to pick his successor. That ship sailed with Hopkins.

As long as there’s a national search and we don’t have to settle on Autry or McNamara, I think we can make up ground on Duke and UNC. I don’t think Davis or Scheyer were good hires. Davis made the title game with Roy’s kids, OK. He’s already struggling in year two with a lot of the same guys. Scheyer’s proving there’s more to coaching than recruiting.

This conference will be wide open outside of UVA.

I have been a manager for the last 15 years of my career. The way I manage my staff today isn't the way I managed my staff 5 years ago let alone 10 years ago. You have to adapt with the changing world around you or it will run you over. Bottom line the way JB acted 10 years ago isn't acceptable in todays society. Things have changed and JB is failing to change with the times. The more out burst he has the worse it will look for the University and more fans will leave. I do think winning would cure some of that but I still think the society as a whole has moved on from the tough grump old man act that worked in the past.

And hopefully it's not been picked clean pending whatever happens with the SEC and BIG

There are plenty of receipts on this board where posters didnt like the act DURING THE FINAL FOUR SEASON of 2013. The idea that this is because he's losing is strawman central

Here's just one receipt...plenty out there...

My position on fans leaving is that if their commitment was so weak that an old man being mean or the team losing is enough to drive them away, then getting new fans in their place with equally weak commitments is cake. I don’t think we should worry about the fly by night fans.

The committed fans who might just show up less because we’re losing will come back in a heartbeat.

The receipts are piling up for 10 years now. It is getting louder because society has changed IMO

Honestly, its not that much louder. JB has got heat for years for this. Some like it, some don't, some don't care either way.

Personally, I think it's sometimes funny, sometimes lame...but its nothing new

Goodbye Bill Belichik.

I promise you if BB has 10 years losing like JB has he will not be coaching the Patriots anymore and he has had way more success than JB.

Yeah but JB won’t be coaching here in 3-4 years. I thought you were implying that the olds would be dead and younger fans won’t pick up the slack. Which would also imply the next coach will be on the skids at that point.
Won’t he?

Won’t he?

I don’t think so.

Maybe that’s why I’m at odds so much with people over JB. My position is that he’s out in 2 years, so just grin and bear it; there’s no short term option better than JB. And he’s not going to do any irreparable harm in 2 years. What harm is done is done.

If people who are arguing for him to be canned are doing so because they think he’s coaching until he’s 90, then I guess I see their point. I’ve just assumed they’ve been arguing for him to be fired yesterday with a swift kick in the pants.

The original JB enforcer- Townie!

You’re probably right but it would be 10 years of mostly 9 or 10 win seasons and most ending in a playoff birth. Context for losing

While I agree with you on a societal level, there’s still wiggle room in sports. Not saying being a jerk is acceptable, but you can get away with it.

I think it's fair to have a bone to pick over the pressers especially some the really bad ones but it's pretty far down the list of reasons for needing change at this point.

Maybe it's being used to them and conditioned to it.

Right I agree you can be a jerk if you win at a high level. People will put up with it but as soon as the losses start to pile up people will turn on you very quickly.

Almost included that scenario in my post. Of course, if we wind up in a second tier, we’ll be a power. Football and basketball. I might be OK with that if it’s sustainable. The product probably won’t be very good at any level anyway.
