honestly this whole dynamic around teams keeping players or not...makes me dislike the nba

and major sports in general...its the same dynamic that NIL is bringing to NCABB

i feel like teams should be able to keep talent and not have to get rid of players bc of salary...that they should grow organically

Actually, what you're asking is what NIL is doing to the NCAA. Without a salary cap, the richest teams could hoard talent. Fans of 80% of the teams would know they never have a chance and just check out. Look at MLB. The NBA has put things in place to allow some homegrown talent to stay with they're original team, you're just never going to see Russell era Celtics again, and that's a good thing.

well ncaa is totally different bc there is extreme turnover from year to year...so salary cap wouldnt atually be the reason teams are different and blown up

its basically all major pro sports in the us now, thoguh NFL, MLB, even MLS..they follow the same model of spreading the wealth around for marekting purposes////and increasing sustained fan interest by changing which teams are good from year to year

there hasnt really been a dynasty in any sport for a long time now...and it is for the interests of profit and marketing. it is what it is
