JB's Postgame Presser | IUP

When he mentioned Benny’s rebounding he was talking about the first couple minutes when he got pushed out of the way by a smaller kid. Overall he was complimentary about his rebounding.

I didn’t hear him say Jesse was showcasing for the nba and not playing for the team,

Yeah -- context of the comments matters. Just looking at sentence fragments in a vacuum often paints a misleading picture.

As much as i complain about JB listening to him tonight it hit home for me how much im going to miss him. He really is brilliant and regardless of who our next coach is things will never be the same. Very few schools ever get to experience what we have. I hope this is a great year for him and the team.
Nobody would be calling for his retirement if he was having great seasons.

Good presser. Not much to disagree with. Jesse wasn't good early but got better, frosh were pressing. Bell will definitely shoot it better and 3 of his misses looked on target.

Lots of good stuff on Quadir and for good reason.

Listen to JB. He praised Cope more than anyone.
Yep Donna just posted an article on Copeland with some of JB's comments.

Copeland is the kind of player that is the difference maker that adds more Ws to a season. Positive, confident, capable and all over the floor. We haven't had that kind of energy on the court in it seems like forever. Bol always has it on the bench but on the court it's different. Love this kid and its been one game.

6 to 7 players? Jess, Benny, Girard, Chris Bell, Mintz, Symir, Taylor?
No way you have to have either one more big!

one of the two centers back up or brown

If Red gets the job, you will go to sleep, (during the presser), dreaming of when JB was at the mike.
Maybe so, but does that really matter?

JB: "You know every game you're going to get into a rhythm of 5 or 6 guys at some point in time. That's college basketball. This isn't the NBA...6 or 7 guys is what everybody plays. Nobody seems to understand that in Syracuse, but it's...the truth. You don't like the truth sometimes."
Cracked me up

Perhaps JB can explain it to the entire Syracuse community...as (the entire Syracuse community) being like 2 year olds. ;)

Really like the comparison to Josh Pace. Might never start, but woo boy, you want him on the floor in crunch time.

Pfft, Pace was awesome but Quadir will play in the NBA.

I love this quote:

“That’s what I bring every day in practice. That’s just my thing,” Copeland said. “Bringing energy and just trying to change the game. I tell the guys every day, ‘No matter what, we can control our energy. Regardless of how many shots we miss, we can control our energy and we can control our emotions.’”
