JB's Presser after St Johns

I'm concerned as it is, but our recruiting really has me at the point of legitimately wondering what direction this program is heading.

JB isn't nearly as driven as a recruiter as he once was. It happens. He isnt as visible on the trail as he once was.
He's letting his assistants do the leg work and it may be hurting us in terms of judging players and being seen. His lame duck status has probably also played a factor. His last game for SU could be in the first round of the ACC tourney. Tough to imagine.

The fans were not worse. What the hell was there to cheer about? We were burning timeouts early in both halves because we couldn't even inbound the freaking ball. This wasn't WVU or UL we were playing. The live fans are probably tired of seeing the ineptitude of the offense for a few years now. I have seen it done. UCLA. Before they fixed up Pauley and before Alford came in. I know beacuse I watch all the Pac-12 games being a USC alum.

Someone said something about calling a spade a spade. Let me give that a shot.

Now there's no agreement on what the term "azzhole" actually means. But most people know one when they see one.

Not cheering is one thing. Booing is quite another. Being frustrated doesn't give you a license to behave like as azzhole. This is a home crowd at a college basketball game.

Those SU fans that booed that team tonight are azzholes.

And he may never get an ACC Tournament victory.

oh come on man, I'm as pollyana and JB-backing as they come and the team tonight most definitely quit - they went from playing like sh__ to not playing at all
I've been a Syracuse Basketball junkie since '73...The above statement is absolutely TRUE. Anyone who does not agree with this is either in complete denial or has a perceptual handicap.

Cry me a river. They got booed. Big deal. Hardly azzholes.

FB has 85 scholarship athletes per team
BB has 13 scholarship athletes per team.
NY HS FB is poor not a lot of D-1 athletes each year
NY HS BB is top 5 in the nation tons of top D-1 athletes each year.
We have a large arena and play in an elite league.
We will be fine.

Booing lack of effort is never wrong. That is on the HC. Booing happens everywhere Rupp Arena, Assembly Hall, Pauley Pavilion have all seen it in the last few years.

Booing college kids on their home court is always wrong. It's behavior you'd expect from morons. I haven't been in those arenas, but I have been in many, many others in the Big East, in the ACC, at Big Five games in Philly. I have never heard the home team booed.

When the game was out of reach, things broke down. When Coleman took that ridiculous 3 pt shot, it was hardly noticed. But it was more desperation and lack of discipline that quitting at least until things got completely out of hand.

There's a lot of issues.

A stale offensive scheme.

A stale defensive scheme and a stubbornness to use anything else.

Poor guard play.

Generally ineffective post play.

At best, average ball handling.

Inability to score easy baskets on the break.

Poor rebounding.

Poor free throw shooting.

Recruiting misses.

That should do it.

What is it that makes you a fan, again? Is there anything you like?

If I'm recruiting against SU, I'd play 10 seconds of the video of tonight's game when the crowd was booing for the recruit. I'd ask, "You want to play in front of these people?"

Townie, I love ya, but it happens. I was in Chapel Hill of all places and saw it happen. Granted that was an 18 win team that ended up going to a F4.

I have never seen a more misfit SU team than this. NO one has. A lot needs to be said about silly early entries, 5th year transfers, playing old rivals that want nothing more to beat you, but this is just a mess from top to bottom.

There's more ammo than that. Show tapes of our offense scheme, the lack of fundamentals, 'zone won't prepare you for the NBA,' etc. The Dome morgue-factor is more of an issue than the booing, lol.

I give you credit for your persistence with this tune

Those are all facts. Facts. Not debatebale. It is what it is. We all bleed orange.
It's not a fact that SU has a "stale" defense or a "stale" offense. These would by your opinions.
Your opinions are not facts.

And if I'm recruiting against SU it's simple to show our coach ripping players in the press, the defense they'll never ever use after they leave Syracuse and one of the most boring offenses in all of basketball.

We won't mention NBA success, but that's another

Are you a serious person? There's no way. I even liked some of your posts this week... How did that happen

Yeah they must love playing for a coach who will rip them in postgame news conferences. If I were recruiting against him I would play those clips of him ripping Tyler Roberson constantly or mocking Paul harris in the 6OT game for missing layups.
That stuff doesn't matter just fans booing a team give up is going to turn them off.

I sat right behind the SJU bench. One of their staff turned to a fan and said "doesn't this feel good?" And the fan replied "oh yeh!" :vomit: This was before the and1 highlights.

IF you're gonna play 3 mid- majorish games let them be against people who fear us. Not those three guys.

But I think my pickup groups could do better against that team...

This team is playing very badly right now. No question.

But I have been to at least 100 games at Cole Field House, known for its rough crowd and I have never heard the crowd boo the Terps.

Come on I've heard it at Byrd (not Byrd now but you know)

Ask your Gonzaga pals about Howard.
